About us
Students for the Exploration and Development of Space (SEDS Canada) is a student-run non-profit organization in Canada dedicated to strengthening Canada's future in space by providing post-secondary students with unique projects, research programs, and professional development opportunities in the Canadian governmental, industrial and institutional space sectors. We work to develop pioneering projects, such as the Canadian Reduced Gravity Experiment Design Challenge and Young Space Entrepreneurs Competition. These projects, along with Ascension, our national conference, give opportunities for students to learn key technical skills and participate in exciting and relevant experiences for their professional development. To date, we've provided many students with unique hands-on experiences in business development and microgravity research. This year in addition to providing these opportunities to more students than ever before we are expanding the amount and types of activities we offer. So stay tuned for many exciting opportunities!

A huge congratulations to team CRISiS for publishing their work in npj Microgravity! This incredible team of students from Concordia University participated in the Canadian Reduced Gravity Experiment Design Challenge (CAN-RGX) VI campaign in 2023, a national competition held in collaboration with the National Research Council Canada / Conseil national de recherches Canada and the Canadian Space Agency | Agence spatiale canadienne. Their project focused on the development of a high-fidelity CPR simulator to simulate blood circulation and provide real-time hemodynamic feedback, an important step toward safer human spaceflight. It’s amazing to see student-led research making an impact at this level! Read the article here: https://lnkd.in/ewgPChdy --- Félicitations immenses à l’équipe CRISiS pour la publication de leurs travaux dans npj Microgravity! On March 7th and 8th, SEDS-Canada organised Canada's first CubeSat conference, the Canadian CubeSat Conference 2026, in collaboration with Space Concordia at Concordia University. It was a one-of-a-kind event that brought together CubeSat and SmallSat enthusiasts, students, alumni, researchers, and industry experts from across Canada for two days of learning, collaboration, and community building. The conference created a space for meaningful discussions on small satellite missions, student-led innovation, emerging space technologies, and the future of the Canadian CubeSat ecosystem. From insightful talks and technical sessions to networking opportunities and student engagement, CCC 2026 highlighted the incredible momentum and talent growing within Canada’s space sector. We are deeply grateful to our speakers, partners, volunteers, and attendees who made this event possible. Your enthusiasm, knowledge, and support helped make this inaugural conference a strong step forward for the Canadian CubeSat community. Special thanks to our sponsors SFL Missions Inc., MDA Space, Rocket Lab, and Wyvern. We are also thankful to Groupe Poulet Rouge and SpiceBros for being our lunch sponsor, and to MathWorks for being an in-kind sponsor. Here’s to building on this momentum and continuing to connect and strengthen the next generation of Canadian space innovators. #cubesats #canadian_cubesat_conference #canadian_cubesat_network
