Miltera was pleased to attend the inaugural CIBC Defence and Resiliency Summit in Toronto last week. The event brought together leaders from across Canada’s defence ecosystem to discuss the opportunities and challenges shaping the sector, including the growing importance of resilient domestic industrial capability, advanced manufacturing, and dual-use technologies. For Miltera Machining Research Corp., it was a valuable opportunity to connect with leaders across defence, space, and capital markets and to highlight the role Canadian manufacturers can play in supporting next-generation systems. As demand continues to accelerate across satellite, telecommunications, defence, and AI-related infrastructure, the need for scalable, high-precision Canadian manufacturing capacity has never been more important. We appreciated the conversations and look forward to building on the momentum. The Hon. David J. McGuinty | Peter Dawe | Alison Nankivell | Mark Shoniker | Harry Culham | Susan Rimmer

Bridging Experience with Opportunity Oxel Gonzalez path to leadership at Miltera Machining Research Corp. is built on nearly two decades of experience. After 17 years as a Machinist—a career that started in 🇪🇸 Spain and eventually brought him and his wife to 🇨🇦 Canada—Oxel joined our team as Lead of Manufacturing. In less than two years, he transitioned into his current role as VP of Manufacturing. For Oxel, Miltera provided the environment where his long-term experience could translate into a leadership position. His journey is a clear example that at Miltera, personal and professional growth are supported. We’re proud to have his expertise on our team 🦾 . We are thrilled to announce the latest expansion of our machining capabilities with the addition of the MILLS600UG. This simultaneous 5-axis machining center is a masterclass in versatility, allowing us to transition seamlessly between complex turbomachinery and high-volume precision satellite components. What this means for our partners: ⚙️ Grinding and milling in one system: This machine is our second mill equipped with both milling and grinding. Both are integrated into our expanded linear automation system. ⚙️ Exceptional Accuracy: Built on a thermally stable polymer granite base, the MILLS600UG maintains micron-level tolerances even during the most demanding production runs. ⚙️ Versatile Performance: Whether it’s high-speed finishing at 42,000 RPM or complex 5-axis geometries, this machine adapts to a wide range of materials and complexities. ⚙️ One-Setup Efficiency: Reducing the need for multiple fixtures ensures higher part consistency and significantly faster turnaround times. This investment reinforces our commitment to providing the highest quality components for the most demanding industries.

Miltera Machining Research Corp. recently partnered with Launch Canada to manufacture titanium micro rocket fuel pump inducers, drawing on our decades of experience in turbomachinery components. The complexity of these parts required a combination of custom Zedaro tooling and our own in-house proprietary 5-axis software. All this came together with our expertise in high-precision manufacturing. By refining the toolpath logic, we were able to achieve a fine surface finish straight off the machine. This is a critical requirement for rocket fuel systems, as any surface irregularity can negatively impact flow performance at high speeds. To ensure the design was optimized for launch peformance, we produced several prototype iterations with varying pitches for real-world testing. It’s a privilege to support the 🇨🇦 Canadian Aerospace Sector with these sovereign launch components. Adam Trumpour #aerospace #precisionmachining #cncmachining #cncengineering
