#MoonJoy was in full effect during the Artemis II crew’s visit to Canada this week. 🌕🇨🇦 What stood out most wasn’t just the mission, but the humanity and camaraderie behind it. Big, ambitious goals are achieved through teamwork, humility, and taking care of one another every step of the way. A powerful reminder that Canada’s role in space will grow not only through technology and innovation, but through Canadians coming together, collaborating, and working as one crew. A big thank you to Space Canada | Espace Canada, the Canadian Space Agency | Agence spatiale canadienne, MDA Space and Mission Control for hosting such an inspiring event last evening with some of this generation’s greatest heroes.

They say the best defence is a strong offence, and that mindset is shaping how we show up at CANSEC this year. We’re heading to Canada’s leading defence and security event, alongside Canadian Association of Defence and Security Industries (CADSI), where industry, government, and partners are engaging on what comes next. Nova Scotia’s defence advantage is practical. Programs can be delivered, supported, and sustained close to the assets, infrastructure, and companies already doing the work: ✔️ The Royal Canadian Atlantic fleet operates from Halifax ✔️ Irving Shipbuilding anchors major naval construction ✔️ IMP Aerospace & Defence supports aerospace capability ✔️ Lockheed Martin, Thales Defence, BAE Systems, Inc., Babcock Canada Inc. strengthens in-service support and sustainment ✔️ Maritime Launch Services adds emerging space capability That gives companies a real base to deliver across sea, air, and space, not just talk about it. At CANSEC, we’ll be connecting with global defence leaders including Lockheed Martin, Boeing, and General Dynamics along with partners across Department of National Defence/Ministère de la défense nationale. If you’re attending and looking at where to deliver, sustain, or scale in Canada - connect with our team onsite. 📍Sheldon Gillis MSC, CD & Jonathan Coles Learn more at https://lnkd.in/eqf7u8AM. #CANSEC #DefenceIndustry #Aerospace #Naval #ISR #CanadaDefence #Shipbuilding #ITB #DefenceInnovation #NationalSecurity

🇨🇦 Sovereign launch is about far more than rockets. Spaceports are critical national infrastructure that support security, resilience, innovation, and economic growth. VP of Spaceport Operations, Melissa Quinn, presented at the Canadian Space Launch Conference today. Her message was clear: Canada must build sovereign access to space. That means understanding the challenges ahead, addressing both internal and external pressures, and building the infrastructure needed to support a prosperous and secure future. Canada’s future in space depends on the infrastructure we build today.

Happy National Space Day!!! 🚀 From the Moon to the classroom- we celebrate national space day for the all curiosity and exploration it brings to people of all ages. Space science is uniquely connecting as we all sit under one sky, from one planet, curious what else is out there in the world. Tomorrow I will be at the Space Foundation assisting with their community day event. If you’re local to Colorado I recommend coming down for a free day at the museum full of experiements, robots, games… and real astronauts!

What does “space sovereignty” actually mean for Canada? In his conversation with iPolitics, Deloitte’s Dan Kerry breaks it down. It’s not just about launching rockets, but about owning the full space value chain: from satellites to data to real-world applications. As Canada looks to strengthen its role in space, the focus is shifting toward how we use space-based capabilities to drive insight, security, and economic value. With the introduction of the Transport Canada - Transports Canada's Canadian Space Launch Act (Bill C-28), Canada can modernize our regulations to allow for orbital launch. Its passage unlocks Spaceport Nova Scotia as our country's gateway to orbit. We’re building Spaceport Nova Scotia so Canada's space sector can launch from home rather than rely on others. Right now, we’re sending both dollars and talent outside the country. This legislation goes beyond infrastructure. It’s about sovereignty, security, and keeping talent here. Worth a listen: Maritime Launch Services CEO Stephen Matier shares his perspective on C-28 with Rob Fai earlier this week: 🔗 http://bit.ly/4tBXLVf
