Thank you to everyone who joined us and the Edmonton Chamber of Voluntary Organizations yesterday for our first Regional Conversation for nonprofit leaders! We feel energized after connecting with our sector peers through insightful discussions. This event was part of a series of conversations co-hosted by Imagine Canada and regional partners, and presented by PearTree Canada. We would also like to thank our regional sponsors, Intact Public Entities and Edmonton Community Foundation. A special thank you to our National Convening Partner, RBC, for supporting conversations like these.

  • The nonprofits and companies making the deepest difference in communities have one thing in common: strong leadership. The Imagine Canada Trustmarks showcase organizations that demonstrate leadership in social impact - not just by talking about it, but by being held accountable to it. Imagine Canada recognizes excellence through two nationally established programs. The Standards Accreditation Trustmark is awarded to nonprofits and charities that have been independently verified against high standards of governance, transparency and accountability. The PRISM Trustmark is awarded to purpose-driven companies that commit at least 1% of annual pretax profits to Canadian communities. Together, Certified companies give over $1 billion annually. Together, these programs create a shared ecosystem of accountability - where nonprofits and the companies that support them are both given an opportunity to demonstrate their leadership to the communities they serve. Strong Leadership. Stronger Impact. Look for the Trustmarks. See if the charities you support - and the companies you invest in - have earned it 👉 https://buff.ly/zXAEcST #StrongerImpact — Un leadership fort unit les OBNL et les entreprises qui ont un impact marquant au sein de nos communautés.

  • New research from Imagine Canada shows the 2022 disbursement quota change has released an additional $711 million into Canada's charitable sector over the first two years — primarily from private foundations. This article from Future of Good digs into what the data tells us, and what it doesn't: more than half of in-scope foundations didn't meet their new DQ in the first year of reporting, and our principal researcher David Lasby is clear that the full picture will take time to emerge. 📄 Read the full story: https://buff.ly/I74kMPZ Want to go deeper? A recording of our webinar exploring the findings is now available. The session covered what the data tell us about how the new rules are working among foundations and what to watch ahead of the 2027 federal review. 🎥 Watch the recording: https://buff.ly/NNsNSqO 📊Read the full report: https://buff.ly/D4VuiLZ
