  • Inside Boosted: Q&A with the People Behind the Code We’re so grateful to have Donald as one of our technology leaders at Boosted. This month, we connected with Donald for the March edition of Inside Boosted, and he shared how he feels appreciated at work. Q: What’s a small but impactful part of Boosted’s work environment that makes a difference? A: “A small but meaningful part of Boosted’s work environment for me is the genuine appreciation for the work we do. It is not always something big or formal, but you feel it in the small moments. Whether it is a note from leadership or a shoutout in a channel, it makes you feel like your work is seen and that it matters. I have also felt that through some of our company rituals, like the All Hands meetings, and in how we recognize people for living our values. It makes the experience more personal and reminds me that what I am doing contributes to something bigger than just my day-to-day work.” Thanks, Donald!

  • Which AI tool is the BEST for coding? Is there even a best? Well we surveyed our developer team, and we found the most used tools are: 1. Cursor 2. Claude 3. Codex 4. OpenCode But this ranking is not mutually exclusive. This is what the team had to say about why they picked certain tools over others: Cursor vs. Claude: "I like Cursor for quick edits to existing files and straightforward changes. I like Claude more for shipping features and building systems.” - Alex Codex vs. OpenCode: “I typically use Codex as I get better quality, multitasking with the threads and better context understanding of the project. I use OpenCode (with GLM 5 model) because it is pretty good at coding, almost on par with closed models such as Claude at a fraction of the cost. I'm really not "married" to any of them I just use the one that gives me the best output for what I am doing at the moment.” - Donald So, there you have it, doesn’t look like any of these tools will be finding brand loyalty any time soon.

  • We started Weekly Tech Forums to go deep into discussion on topics that we might not get to in our demos. Kamil has been an avid contributor in the forums, especially when it comes to AI. This week, he demoed Cursor Cloud Agents. Check out his takeaways below!

Tightening the Dev Loop at Boosted with Cursor Cloud Agents This week, I demoed Cursor Cloud Agents at Boosted’s WTF (Weekly Tech Forum)—our recurring space to share tools, experiments, and lessons learned. The closest I’ve seen to “reviewing features, not just code” Cursor Cloud Agents let you spin up a cloud environment for a repo, prompt an agent to make a change, and then review the results: • Runs in the cloud (usable from any device) • Can do UI + test validation and produce evidence (e.g., browser runs / videos) • Opens a PR by default, guided by your rules and conventions Reducing workflow friction This is especially useful for the “small but annoying” stuff that steals time: • Quick fixes while you’re away from your dev setup • Small refactors, config updates, and cleanup • Verifying UI flows without manually clicking everything The outcome: faster iteration, fewer context switches, and less time spent on repeatable work—while keeping quality gates (PR review, tests) intact. If you’re experimenting with agent workflows or skills, I’d love to compare notes!

  • We recently helped a large insurance client modernize their data foundation. Their legacy on-premise warehouse kept insurance and health data separate, making it hard to analyze data across teams or build intelligent products. We migrated their platform to BigQuery and brought insurance and health data together in one centralized, cloud-based system. We also replaced outdated ETL and reporting tools with a modern, scalable data stack. Now, they have a centralized cloud platform providing a complete view of each member across insurance and health data. This unified platform has helped our client launch AI initiatives, like personalized services and programs, that were previously limited by legacy, siloed infrastructure.

  • Inside Boosted: Q&A with the People Behind the Code This month, we heard from Tyson, who joined the team last year to lead client enablement. He works closely with our partners to help them turn complex challenges into clear outcomes. In our conversation, he shared how the same principle that drives strong client partnerships also shapes our internal culture. Here’s what he had to say: Q: How does Boosted support work-life balance? A: Trust is one of Boosted's greatest strengths. We trust each other to get the job done and that foundation gives everyone the flexibility to handle whatever life throws at them without sacrificing high performance. A loved one's medical appointment, a sick kid, a friend in need: These things happen. At a lot of companies, that kind of trust isn't a given and it shows in how people feel about their work and their lives. At Boosted, we've built something different. That culture of trust means you can step away when it matters, knowing your team has your back and knowing you have theirs.” Thanks, Tyson!

  • We recently helped a large health provider solve a common healthcare challenge. They had tons of patient data, but they could not clearly see which patients needed support, when to reach out, or what actions could make the biggest difference. In healthcare, timing matters. The right intervention too late becomes a higher claim. We built an AI-driven recommendation system that sits on top of their enterprise data warehouse. It analyzes health data and identifies the best action for each person, such as a preventative program, or a new service. Instead of broad outreach, members receive timely, personalized engagement based on their needs. The impact: - Earlier preventative interventions - Higher member engagement - Fewer avoidable high-cost claims Advanced technology is only useful if it drives real outcomes. In this case, we helped our client shift care from reactive to proactive.

  • When we talk about automation, are we also talking about AI? Not always. In one project, we helped a client automate image processing using an Airflow pipeline. The goal was reliability, and automation alone was the right tool for the job. In another project, we helped a client detect fraud in mortgage applications. That work required more than automation. We automated document parsing and used AI tools like Document AI to interpret non-text elements, creating a solution where AI handled the complexity and automation handled the workflow. At the end of the day, what we care about is driving measurable results for our clients. AI might be flashy, but real value comes from choosing the right tools and keeping the solution simple.

  • In our Weekly Tech Forums, we share and discuss interesting learnings and new technologies. They give us a chance to go deeper on a topic than in our regular demos. Last week, Jordan Chalupka led a discussion on DSPy https://dspy.ai/ What it is: DSPy is a framework for building AI software by breaking prompts and AI logic into reusable, well-defined pieces. We compared it to other tools and discussed DSPy’s focus on improving prompt quality and consistency. Learnings: Treating prompts as reusable components, rather than one-off instructions, helps reduce trial-and-error as systems scale. Considerations: The team noted the potential switching costs of adopting a newer open-source framework in a fast-moving AI landscape, and the risk of overcommitting to tools whose long-term viability is still uncertain. Thanks, Jordan, for a clear, practical walkthrough and a great discussion.

  • Inside Boosted: Q&A with the People Behind the Code Siri has been with Boosted for over two years and has meticulously led projects to continuously drive outsized value. As we continue to expand the team, Siri shared her advice for new team members. Q: What advice would you give to someone joining Boosted for the first time? A: “Start bringing value right away. Don’t wait to be perfectly onboarded or told exactly what to do. Look for problems, gaps, or inefficiencies and start doing stuff—small wins count. Ask questions, ship drafts, make suggestions, help teammates. Momentum matters here, and the fastest way to learn Boosted (and earn trust) is by contributing early and often.” Thanks, Siri, for the insight! We’re hiring for some awesome roles, if you know someone who might be a great fit, let us know! https://lnkd.in/g-Xgm-2A
