On parle trop peu de la ménopause… alors qu’elle touche toutes les femmes, souvent au moment où elles sont pleinement épanouies dans leur vie professionnelle. Et pourtant, la récente étude menée par GreenShield révèle que 1 femme sur 3 attend jusqu’à deux ans avant d’obtenir un traitement, et près de 40% ne savent même pas vers qui se tourner. Pendant ce temps, fatigue, brouillard mental ou troubles du sommeil affectent leur quotidien,et près des deux tiers disent que ça impacte leur travail. Malgré ça, seulement 13% des femmes affirment recevoir un soutien adéquat de leur employeur. Il est temps de normaliser ces conversations et d’offrir un vrai soutien. Menopause is a predictable part of every woman’s life – yet too many are left without timely, effective support. New research from GreenShield shows that one in three Canadian women waits up to two years for effective menopause care, often facing unclear symptoms, confusing care navigation, and concerns that aren’t taken seriously. The impact goes beyond health. Nearly two‑thirds of women say menopause symptoms affect their job performance, yet only 13% report having adequate workplace hormonal health support – highlighting gaps in how life‑stage health needs are addressed. At GreenShield, advancing women’s health has long been a priority. On World Oral Health Day, we’re reflecting on the essential role that oral health plays in overall health. Over the past decade, GreenShield has been instrumental in bridging the gaps in access to oral health care for equity-seeking Canadians. Since 2016, we have committed $23 million to oral health initiatives, directly benefiting more than 63,000 individuals who otherwise might not have received the care they needed. Last year, with the introduction of the Canadian Dental Care Plan, we transitioned from direct involvement in oral health to other critical health priorities, including essential medicines, mental health, and chronic disease management. Meet Roxanne Anger (She/Her) Bilingual Customer Contact Services Agent, GreenShield Cares committee member, part-time auctioneer, and aromatherapy fan👃️ Roxanne is based in our Windsor, Ont. office. Before joining GreenShield four years ago, she worked in health care, supporting COVID-19 immunization initiatives. 🤝 Roxanne says her dream is to spend all her time volunteering and doing charitable work. GreenShield’s purpose-driven culture — where employees are encouraged and recognized for giving back to their communities — is the next best thing. “I don’t know any other employer that supports its employees this way.” 💚 She was a runner-up for the 2025 GreenShield Cares Award, honouring employees who live our purpose and advance our mission: Better Health for All.
