Connect meetings are an opportunity for our global community to convene, offering contributors a dedicated space to advance the GA4GH Road Map, exchange ideas, and provide valuable feedback on product development and emerging needs. This year’s agenda is packed with hands-on sessions. Bringing together 500+ leading organizations working in healthcare, research, patient advocacy, life science, and information technology, the GA4GH community is working together to create frameworks and standards to enable the responsible, voluntary, and secure sharing of genomic and health-related data. All of our work builds upon the Framework for Responsible Sharing of Genomic and Health-Related Data.

GIF's next session, featuring Crypt4GH, will take place on 31 March 2026 at 14:00 UTC. The GA4GH Crypt4GH file format employs industry standards to keep genomic data secure. This session will highlight ongoing work towards new versions and initiatives. This interactive discussion will provide current and future implementers the chance to directly engage with the Crypt4GH product team and experts who have deployed Crypt4GH in various settings. Participants will be able to ask technical and practical questions, gather insights from real-world implementations, and explore solutions to common adoption challenges. Join the Clinical Genomics Laboratory Community (CGLC) meeting on 6 April 2026 at 20:00 UTC! This session will focus on the challenges associated with interpreting and reporting low penetrance variants and risk alleles in clinical genomics. Matthew Lebo and Marcie Steeves, from the ClinGen Working Group, will provide an overview of the current landscape, highlighting the complexities related to terminology and reporting thresholds for these variants. We will send a brief survey in advance of the meeting that individuals can complete in advance or upon joining the call.
