Together, we set out to make a difference — and our team delivered. Through our Joy in Action volunteer campaign, D2Lers committed to an ambitious goal of 2,500 volunteer hours. We’re proud to share that we exceeded it, contributing 2,687 hours in support of communities around the world — the equivalent of nearly 336 days of impact. Giving back is core to who we are at D2L. When we invest our time and talents into the communities around us, we strengthen connections, live our values, and help create meaningful, lasting change. Thank you to every team member who helped turn this collective goal into real impact. #D2L #JoyInAction #CommunityImpact #GivingBack

What if one course could reach hundreds of new learners—and run smoothly with only a small team behind it? For Gregory Moore, Instructional Technology Manager at the MGH Institute of Health Professions, that question became central when his team moved a key health equity course online. They needed a learning management system (LMS) that could support flexibility for busy learners and reduce manual work for staff. Enter D2L Brightspace. What surprised Moore most was how its automation tools shifted the entire experience. Intelligent Agents helped keep students on track, nudged them with timely reminders and dramatically reduced the need for bulk communication. As he explains, “We don’t have to do our communication in bulk to our course learners… it’s taken care of up front.” How does automation change what’s possible for both learners and staff? Watch Moore’s story and find out.

“A keyword is not a skill.” Linda Feng’s reflections from the 1EdTech Learning Impact Summit highlight an important theme: AI is accelerating progress—but trust is foundational. Building credentials that reflect real capability requires transparency, shared standards, and responsible AI practices. That’s how we create meaningful impact for learners.

“A keyword is not a skill.” That line captured so much of what stood out to me this week while thinking about the future of digital credentials. Big learning, thoughtful conversations, and a growing conviction that a truly connected ecosystem is finally within reach. One theme came through loud and clear: AI is accelerating progress—but trust is the prerequisite. Institutions are clear about what they need most: 👉 Don’t use learning materials to train models. 👉 Be transparent about when AI is used, how content is generated, and where humans stay in the loop—principles reinforced in emerging guidance like 1EdTech’s AI‑Generated Content Best Practices and the AI Rubric for evaluating responsible use. https://lnkd.in/gAFmJv9K https://lnkd.in/g693q9j6 If we want AI‑powered credentials to matter, they must reflect real capabilities, context, and intent—not just labels or keywords. This moment feels different—not just because of what AI can do, but because we’re collectively building shared understanding around governance, meaning, and impact. No karaoke this time (the place was closed 😄), but plenty of momentum to carry forward. And I've started researching place to go in SF during #LearningImpact26 in June 😊 Grateful for the conversations, the community, and the work ahead as we keep connecting the dots!! 1EdTech #DigitalCredentials #dcsummit26 D2L #lifeatD2L #AIwithPurpose #ResponsibleAI #ConnectedEcosystems #LearningImpact #Interoperability #EdTech #1EdTech #SkillsNotKeywords

From three-ring binders to AI. In a recent webinar, Sandy Rezendes joined an OpenSesame SME to reflect on the early days of the internet — when learning leaders were teaching email and spreadsheets and wondering, Will this really change the workforce? Twenty-five years later, we know the answer. AI represents a similar inflection point. The impact will be unprecedented — and in many ways unimaginable. At D2L, we’re excited about what’s ahead and committed to helping organizations move forward thoughtfully as they navigate this uncharted space.
