Start off your week with the knowing that you don't have to have all of the answers for your event sponsors when you first meet and resist the temptation to fill in a "probably" response to make the moment more comfortable for you. Edward Byers, CHRP, CMP, CAE from CANRev Collaborative and Non Dues-a-Palooza talk about and why committing to following up later with a more informed answer is actually a sign of professionalism, confidence, and trustworthiness. Too many sponsorship conversations get weakened when people overpromise in the moment instead of slowing down long enough to fully understand what the sponsor is actually trying to accomplish. Sometimes the most powerful thing you can say in a meeting is: "That's a great question. Let me confirm a few things internally and come back to you with the best possible answer." That doesn't weaken the conversation. It strengthens trust. Link to full conversation with other event sponsorship insights in the Comment section below. ⬇️

It was a pleasure joining Lori Zoss Kraska, MBA, CFRE for this conversation We dug into something we're hearing more and more from sponsors right now—qualified conversations as a key metric for event success. Beyond just leads and conversions, it’s about the quality of interactions and real relationship-building happening on the ground. If you’re planning events or thinking about sponsorship strategy, this is definitely worth a listen. Check out the full conversation below
In last week's LinkedIn Live with my guest Edward Byers, CHRP, CMP, CAE of CANRev Collaborative and Non Dues-a-Palooza, I brought up the topic of qualified conversations as another indicator corporate sponsors are talking about when evaluating event sponsorship success in addition to lead gen, conversions, etc... and why this is an excellent opportunity for associations other purpose driven organizations. Ed provides some excellent insight on this as why in person events are having a resurgence in interest right now. Want to hear more?
