Another CANSEC in the books and our team heads back to our offices with a spring in our step, despite a few sore feet! From our Beowulf vehicle displayed together with General Dynamics Land Systems–Canada to our T-150 uncrewed air system or the Herne XLAUV with Cellula Robotics Ltd. and the Global Combat Air Programme, the interest was non-stop. Thank you to everyone who stopped by our stand for a conversation. With more than 300 of our fellow Canadian companies in our supply chain, and ambitions to do even more together, we had a lot to talk about. Congratulations to Canadian Association of Defence and Security Industries (CADSI), Christyn (Chris) Cianfarani and the team. The BvS10 Beowulf is designed and built in the Arctic, for the Arctic. The Beowulf is a dual-body, all-terrain vehicle built in Sweden on proven technology and has the greatest potential tactical mobility of any NATO vehicle in service—that we would deliver in collaboration with GDLS-Canada. As the only vehicle in this category in production and in service, Beowulf sets the standard for total operational support in the most hostile of Canada’s environments. Coming from a hot production line with ongoing deliveries to allied forces—enhancing pace for Initial Operating Capability. Spending time with our customers in Canada is always worthwhile. Since I was last here, Canada has published its Defence Industrial Strategy, setting a clear direction for strengthening national capability, supporting long-term growth and deepening collaboration with trusted allies. These were central themes in my conversation with Prime Minister Mark Carney. Our growing team on the ground is bringing together our global expertise with strong local capability to support these ambitions. We’re committed to working closely with Canadian customers and partners to help build sovereign capability, strengthen resilient supply chains and support skills jobs and economic growth in Canada. I look forward to continuing these conversations and building on the strong momentum together.

Our Herne XLAUV is designed to deliver integrated military operational advantage in complex underwater battlespaces. Working with Thales' advanced ISR mast, we’re combining a modular platform with rapid 360-degree image capture to enhance surface ISR from subsea platforms, while reducing above-surface exposure. We are working in partnership with Cellula Robotics Ltd. from Burnaby, BC on Herne and in 2024 we successfully conducted an in-water demonstration. In 2025 we signed a 10-year Strategic Partnership Agreement with Cellula to collaborate on development and market delivery. At #CANSEC2026 attendees can find out more about Herne on our booth at the show, number 1621. This kind of collaboration matters. It helps us bring together technologies to respond to evolving threats with greater pace and confidence. BAE Systems has played a vital role in Canadian defence capabilities for more than a century and we will do so for many years to come. We spend approximately C$300m per year with more than 150 Canadian suppliers. This supports an estimated 8,000 Canadian jobs. The Company will grow in Canada in the years ahead, employing more Canadians in high-value jobs as it does so. Our team is looking forward to attending CANSEC again this year where we will welcome our customers, fellow Canadian industrial partners and potential future employees. Historic firsts in the Arctic 🚁 The Royal Marines have successfully used our T-150 uncrewed air system to carry out critical logistical missions in Northern Norway. Operating in temperatures as low as -28°C, the team transported vital supplies including ammunition, blood and a bomb disposal robot. This represents a significant step forward in the UK’s drive to rapidly adopt new technologies on the front line and reduces the risk to personnel by removing the need for them to travel across dangerous and unforgiving terrain. Neil Appleton, who leads our Malloy Aeronautics Ltd. business, shares how this and our other T-150 collaborations are helping to transform military operations 🔗 http://baes.co/7zQz50YGXgF
