  • Still adjusting your U-value to make sure it holds? Achieving the right U-value often requires repeating the same calculation more than once. Adjust a layer. Recalculate. Adjust again. And while the calculation itself isn’t the problem, the repetition becomes more difficult when you’re juggling deadlines, specifications and dozens of other decisions. Especially when concentration naturally starts to fade. What matters then isn’t speed. It’s having the confidence to know that the calculation still holds. 💡 That’s exactly where the Knauf Insulation U-value calculator comes in. You can run calculations instantly, adjust your build-up and recalculate as many times as needed until the specification feels right. If you need to share or document your choices, you can also download a clear report of the calculation. And because the tool is free and browser-based, you can simply open it, check your build-up, and move on with your project. ▶️ Find the U-value calculator on your local Knauf website, under ‘Tools & Services’: https://lnkd.in/g8C4eXGt Or get in touch with your local Knauf Insulation representative. #UValue #EnergyEfficiency

  • 📍Insulation isn’t one-size-fits-all. Select the material that fits your building and its fire safety requirements: ➡️High-density Rock Mineral Wool: applications that require mechanical performance of insulation or where it is directly exposed to high temperatures or open flames ➡️Low-density Rock Mineral Wool: applications that need insulation as a filler material, temperature and noise regulation ➡️Glass Mineral Wool: applications that need insulation as a filler material and demand thermal and acoustic performance, better air quality, fast and easy installation, and a lower carbon footprint

What makes a product truly “premium”? At our recent Product Roundtable Summit in Visé, Belgium, product managers and innovation leaders from across regions came together around one central idea: "Premium performance is built through clarity, focus, quality, collaboration, and the courage to make the right decisions." Over two days, teams exchanged perspectives on: 📈 Growth opportunities across key product applications 🧭 Product portfolio strategy and simplification 💡 Innovation priorities and roadmap alignment 🤝 Customer expectations and market differentiation 🎯 The behaviours required to deliver premium performance consistently One message strongly emerged from the discussions: "In increasingly complex markets, growth is about focusing on what creates the most value for our customers." As Abdelmoula EL HADI, Group Head of Innovation EMEA/APAC at Knauf Insulation, reflected during the event: “This year, we focused not only on innovation and growth, but also on the mindset, clarity, and discipline required to deliver premium performance consistently. Because in the end, the real shift is moving from product centricity to customer centricity. Many companies have good products. The real difference comes from understanding customer needs better, focusing on what truly creates value, and executing with clarity and consistency.” A big thank you to all participants, speakers, and teams involved in making this event a strong moment of alignment, reflection, and forward-looking collaboration.

  • Construction specifications can be challenging. Not because U-value calculations are particularly difficult. But because they are an additional task on top of everything else you’re already managing. Checking assumptions. Comparing materials. Keeping local requirements in mind. And sometimes wondering: did I overlook something? There are a lot of small things competing for your attention during the design process. That’s where the Knauf Insulation U-value calculator can help. It enables you to accurately calculate and review U-values. So you can keep track of your project and sense-check decisions without creating extra work. 💡 Open it when you need it, run a quick calculation, and download a clear report with all the details. ▶️ Find the U-value calculator on your local Knauf website, under ‘Tools & Services’: https://lnkd.in/g8C4eXGt Or get in touch with your local Knauf Insulation representative. #UValue #EnergyEfficiency

What happens when technical expertise meets EU policy discussions? Last week, we had the pleasure of welcoming our colleague Markus Elsperger to Brussels for a series of meetings with the European Commission, the European Parliament and external stakeholders. The focus of the visit was green infrastructure, and how solutions such as green roofs can help cities respond to several challenges at once. Because this is not just about adding more green space to buildings. It is about helping cities become more resilient, more liveable and better prepared for climate change. During the discussions, Markus shared how green infrastructure can: 🌿 help buildings cope better with extreme temperatures 💧 relieve pressure on sewage systems by detaining rainwater, with green roofs acting like giant sponges above our cities ☀️ improve the efficiency of photovoltaic systems when combined with green roofs, creating so-called bio-solar roofs 🐝 support biodiversity by creating new green hubs for bees, insects and residents alike European legislation such as the Nature Restoration Law, and upcoming initiatives like the Climate Resilience Framework, are setting the right direction. But the real question is: 👉 How do we make sure these ambitions work in practice? That is why exchanges like this matter. They help connect policy with practical solutions, technical knowledge and real-life implementation. A sincere thank you to MEP Alexander Bernhuber for the thoughtful exchange on green infrastructure and technological neutrality, to Eurocities for sharing the city perspective, and to the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Environment for a constructive discussion. • 💭 Energy efficiency is only a choice away. 64% of the energy consumed in Europe is attributed to heating our homes, yet 75% of those homes are not energy efficient. That means a large amount of energy is wasted unnecessarily. But there are ways to improve. Just 95 days after installing Mineral Wool Insulation, the carbon savings from reduced heating demand offset the emissions generated during its production and start having a positive environmental impact. Studies show that insulation can help lower a building’s energy requirements by up to 44%, saving Europe 3.6 megatonnes of carbon in a single year.* *2022 data, assumptions still valid

  • Three days of ideas, conversations and fresh perspectives on the future sustainable and healthy buildings. We’re happy to have contributed and participated in GBCI Europe Circle 2026 last week in Milan, which brought together professionals from across the building industry to discuss how we can accelerate the green building movement. Our team joined important conversations around “forging resilience” and how energy efficient buildings can play a role in strengthening Europe’s energy security and addressing climate-related risks. These discussions also reinforced the importance of investing in sustainable and low carbon materials from the design phase to create more future-proof buildings. Our very own jean-pierre pigeolet, Global LCA & EPD Manager at Knauf was part of a live stage panel: “Green Building Materials Jeopardy!”. This session explored how sustainable building materials can contribute to LEED v5 and support more credible, measurable approaches to net-zero strategies. As our Sustainable Market Manager, Francesco Cavicchioli, shared: “GBCI Circle Europe is an important opportunity to exchange ideas on how to make sustainability in the built environment more concrete and measurable. For us at Knauf Insulation, participating at GBCI Circle Europe means sharing perspectives, learning from others and strengthening collaboration across the whole value chain, because real progress depends on working together.” A big thank you to the organisers, partners and customers who made these discussions so valuable. It was a pleasure to connect and exchange ideas, and we leave Milan with fresh insights, renewed energy and a shared commitment to keep shaping buildings that perform better for people and the planet. 🌍♻️ #GBCI2026

  • 🪨Specifying high-density Rock Mineral Wool is not always necessary for high fire performance Choosing a higher-density Rock Mineral Wool is the better option for: ➡️Specialised applications requiring mechanical strength (e.g. ETICS, flat roofs, floors, etc.) ➡️Flat roofs with photovoltaic panels ➡️Where insulation is directly exposed to open flames (e.g. fire protection boards for structural steel structure) ➡️Shipbuilding: thermal insulation of ship partitions & bulkheads, fire insulation of decks, etc. However, for common building applications like suspended ceilings, partition walls, frame walls and double skin metal roofs, Glass Mineral Wool and low-density Rock Mineral Wool can both deliver the necessary fire performance to make your building safer. Using high-density Rock Mineral Wool for these common building applications may be an unnecessary over-specification – adding weight, making installation harder and increasing costs.

  • 🤔 Can we lower the carbon emissions of our buildings? We can – with the right insulation! By properly insulating Europe’s buildings, we can lower their carbon emissions by 3.6 million tonnes of carbon every year. That’s the same amount of carbon that is emitted by 2.5 million cars in a year.* All it takes is to build better buildings and renovate existing ones to make them more energy efficient. Together, we can create a better planet and a better future for everyone. *2022 data, assumptions still valid

  • 🔊 Noise is something many of us take for granted until it starts affecting how we feel, work or rest. Unwanted noise can have a real impact on concentration, reducing productivity by up to 66%, as well as affecting sleep quality and overall well-being. It is also recognised as one of the leading environmental health risks in Europe. Noise Awareness Day is a good opportunity to reflect on how sound is addressed in the built environment, from homes and offices to industrial spaces. At Knauf Insulation, acoustic performance is a fundamental part of building design. Considering acoustics early on helps create quieter, healthier spaces that support focus, comfort and everyday quality of life. Better acoustics lead to better buildings and to spaces that work better for the people who use them. #InternationalNoiseAwarenessDay
