This past week the 2026 BDO Legal Global Summit brought together legal leaders from 36 countries in Madrid. Colleagues from across the network came together to exchange ideas, align strategies, and explore how our global legal practice continues to evolve. The programme centred on the key themes shaping our future, from strategy and market dynamics to the role of AI and the opportunities it creates for our teams and our clients. Thank you to everyone involved for the energy, openness and contribution that made it such a valuable and engaging few days! #BDOLegalSummit2026 #BDOLegal #BDOProud #GlobalTeam

Global tax policy continues to accelerate toward a more transparent, technology enabled and substance driven framework, and recent developments across key jurisdictions underscore how quickly that shift is unfolding: • Australia is considering a sweeping overhaul of its R&D tax incentive to sharpen its impact on innovation. • Austria’s decision to lower its “low taxation” threshold to 15% signals a clear alignment with the Pillar Two minimum tax standard, bringing a wider range of cross border structures within scope. • Luxembourg’s modernization of its carried interest regime similarly reflects an effort to remain competitive while adapting to global norms. • Administrative and enforcement frameworks are becoming more structured, transparent and assertive as evidenced by developments in Brazil, Colombia, Mexico and Spain. • Courts in Germany, India and Singapore are reshaping long standing interpretations. https://ow.ly/OQ5l50Z1vC2 #CorporateTaxNews #WithholdingTax #PillarTwo #BDOGlobal

A fantastic milestone for BDO South Africa with the opening of the second office in Cape Town, and the one-year anniversary of BDO WAVE - a joint partnership with BDO UK. #OneBDO
The opening of our second BDO office in Cape Town marked an important milestone for BDO South Africa and the one-year anniversary of BDO WAVE. BDO WAVE is a joint venture between BDO South Africa and BDO UK. It operates within BDO South Africa’s International Offshore Centre (IOC), led by Fayaz Mohamed - our extended delivery platform supporting BDO member firms across multiple global markets. The milestone was co-anchored by Bonga L.D. Mokoena, CEO of BDO South Africa, and Mark Shaw, CEO of BDO UK, reflecting the strength of the South Africa–UK partnership and shared confidence in what is being built across the BDO network. Thank you to Shirley Rogan and Sarah Kierstan from BDO UK for joining us in Cape Town, and congratulations to Mark Willimott CA(SA), Lauren van Zyl CA (SA) and the BDO WAVE leadership team for the momentum and traction achieved over the past year. Most importantly, thank you to the incredible talent in South Africa whose quality, discipline and capability continue to earn the trust of global clients. #BDOSouthAfrica #BDOUK #BDOWave #ExtendedDelivery
