Daniel Haughey posted thisAfter 30+ years since my first role in the tech industry and a wonderful 15+ years at REA I’ve decided to take a break! I’m really proud of what we’ve achieved at REA over this time as we’ve grown from scale-up to industry leader. And I’m deeply thankful to everyone who I worked with there, what amazing people. Thank you! From here I’m planning on spending time with family, travel and maybe even get into some of those life projects that have been on the back burner. And I’m trying hard to avoid going too deep down the AI rabbit hole. Will reconnect when I’m back from my travels.

Daniel Haughey liked thisDaniel Haughey liked thisAfter just shy of 22 fantastic years, my last day at Thoughtworks (for now!) was April 24. I joined in London in 2004, when we were around 400–500 people. I didn’t expect to still be there two years later—let alone nearly 22 years later —having helped scale it into a $1bn+ global business with 10,000+ Thoughtworkers across 20+ countries. It’s been an incredible journey. One defined by extraordinary people, ambitious clients, and the chance to help shape how modern technology organizations are built and scaled. Thoughtworks has also been a big part of my life outside of work—taking my family and me around the world to places we never would have imagined. We’ll always be grateful for that. As I thought about how to capture it all, I kept coming back to the idea that a picture says more than words. The photos below do a better job than I can. Enjoy the journey! To everyone I had the privilege to work with—whether or not I managed to capture you in my photos! - thank you. I’m incredibly grateful. I leave also with real excitement for what comes next for Thoughtworks. The industry is being reshaped, and there’s no team I’d back more to lead through that change. So what’s next for me? First, a short break to recharge. A summer of family, friends, reading, learning and travel. I can't tell you how excited I am after over 3 decades of non-stop work. Then, I’ll be spending time with a select group of leadership teams, boards, and investors—working on growth, go-to-market transformation, and the shift to AI-led platforms and operating models. Exciting times! As always, super happy to connect and compare notes. Chris

The opportunity to step into this new role — at an organisation so deeply connected to its purpose, and alongside such a wonderful group of people — is incredibly exciting. OUA, thank you for welcoming me (back) so generously. A big thank you as well to Alinta Energy and all my former colleagues for the privilege I had of working with you over the past two years. I am very proud of what we achieved together. Wishing you all the best for the exciting journey ahead.

Daniel Haughey reacted on thisDaniel Haughey reacted on thisOver the past couple of years, many of you — across my team, former colleagues, clients, partners and even competitors — have walked alongside our family as our beautiful daughter Beatrix battled cancer. Some of you donned the pink unicorn t-shirts as part of the Team Bea Official Crew. Some of you supported our campaign through The Human Sheep Project. Many of you donated, sent messages, shared stories, checked in or simply held us in your thoughts. Every single gesture mattered. The support from this community — the professional network I am so fortunate to be part of — has been overwhelming in the most humbling way. Behind companies, job titles, brands and LinkedIn profiles are extraordinary human beings. Over these past years, you have shown us exactly that. Last week, our brave, bright, extraordinary little Bea passed away. There are no words for the hole she leaves in our lives. But there is profound gratitude for the people who helped carry us through her fight. If you would like to join us in celebrating and remembering our beautiful girl, we are hosting a service at 2:30pm on Thursday, 12 March 2026 in the Main Hall at the Hawthorn Arts Centre. All are welcome. From the bottom of my heart — thank you. For the courage. For the generosity. For the support.

And today we had an epic guest, Kerri Rusnak, sharing her experience at Spotify / REA Group, and other great workplaces—especially when it comes to planning, agility, and running effective teams. Beyond joining the Mission, Vision & Values exercise for teams, Kerri shared a ton of wisdom on what good planning looks like, including: - balancing agile execution with mid-term roadmaps, - the importance of cross-team coordination for interdependent work, and - keeping a single source of truth for planning. Thanks so much, Kerri. Having you in the bootcamp was a delight, and the participants really benefited from your insights and experience. 🙌

Daniel Haughey liked thisDaniel Haughey liked thisTech Fest 2026 was our second year bringing Global Technology together at REA Group – and it’s starting to feel like a moment that really defines who we are as a tech community. What I love about Tech Fest is the mix of strategy, learning and play in one day. We had: - strategy conversations and leadership sessions that gave us a clear view of where we’re heading - speakers and workshops where people could go deep into AI, engineering and product - spaces designed purely for joy and nostalgia – from a retro console room with Commodore 64s, Atari and arcades, to an Apple museum full of colourful iMacs you could walk around and appreciate as objects of design. On the design side, we treated the office like a festival site again. We wrapped the stairs to turn that first step into the building into a “you’re in Tech Fest mode now” moment, and used installations, signage and small details to guide people through different experiences, not just different rooms. Because this was our second Tech Fest, it also felt like an exercise in iteration. We kept what worked from last year (thanks Dario from 2025 for all the systems in place), brought back favourites like the stairs wrap and Apple museum in a new form, and deliberately simplified or dropped things that didn’t add enough value. That let the team run a big, complex event with a lot more calm behind the scenes, and focus on the feeling we wanted people to leave with. I’m grateful to have the creative freedom to keep evolving the "tech is love" concept – this time with fun characters that made the design journey even more engaging. Thanks Steve for your support and Taylor for helping with the execution again. Personally, I’m proud of the team that made all of this real. From all the organisation and logistics with Kate, Lauren, Jemma, Sarah W, Sarah F, Victoria to the people hauling hardware Luke, setting up consoles, wrapping vinyl Khuong , Jane Galit and Feli making sure hundreds of tiny details came together on the day. All the Simulator work Adrian, Trent, Katy. All the digital signage and comms Belinda and Kellie. Our amazing MC Max. The beautiful shots from Daniel. Our very own AI gurus Myles and Jake. Thanks to all the Cyber City team that helped to replicate the event there as well. Tech Fest is becoming a highlight of our year for a reason. It’s where we step out of our usual teams, reconnect in person and re-imagine how we work together. Thank you all. GRACIASSS!!! :)

Blake and Cat identified a need to enhance the protection and management of property funds for real estate businesses and the buyers and sellers they serve and set out to create Trustport. Together they bring over 30 years’ experience in bringing customer-led digital transformation and streamlined technology solutions to the property and financial sectors. Blake, CEO is a former co-founder of Realtair, a leading real estate transaction platform that was acquired by REA Group. Cat, CTO is an Executive who has led the delivery of complex and secure technology solutions for leading property technology and financial services brands in the UK, NZ and Australia. Trustport is setting the standard for how money is managed and moved in property. Backed by trusted Australian real estate brands and financial institutions to fast-track security and efficiencies in property that’s accessible to all. Cat and Blake commented that “Through our time working closely with real estate customers, we’ve received consistent feedback that Trust Accounting is a major pain point for real estate businesses, with costly administrative, financial management and compliance burden. We believe that bank grade security and effortless property funds management should be standard and available for everyone who transacts in property. The timing of this enablement is critical as real estate businesses are about to face increasing regulatory burden with the upcoming change to anti-money laundering legislation.” www.trustport.com

This is what democratising Agentic AI at Macquarie's Banking and Financial Services division looks like. Quite simply, it's about empowering all of our people to boost productivity, spark innovation and ultimately, deliver smarter and more personal experiences for our customers. And we're doing this by collaborating with Google Cloud to put agentic AI in the hands of our entire team - as seen here during a powerful innovation lab which saw our people working together, thinking creatively and solving real business problems using Agentic AI. Our partnership with Google is a huge step forward in our commitment to a digital-first approach and a testament to our focus on responsible AI adoption and up-skilling our people. And with 99% of our team already trained in using generative AI, we're not just adopting new technology, we're investing in our team's future skills and careers. Every bank I speak to is facing similar challenges - the need to go faster while being more efficient yet burdened by legacy systems and siloed organisational structures. Bendigo Bank, one of Australia's most trusted financial institutions, tackled all of those challenges head on and successfully completed one of the fastest digital banking transformations in our region. Consolidating two separate divisions and over 30 different forms and systems into a single, unified platform - all in 13 months. "We had customers using multiple tools, bankers using multiple tools. We couldn't actually start to improve the process because we had multiple processes instead of one standardised approach." Neil Edwards, Head of Business Design, Bendigo Bank There's no secret sauce. It's a deep commitment to trusted partner relationships, embracing standardisation and prioritising "pace over perfection". Now, they have a unified customer experience, streamlined operations, and a foundation for continuous innovation. https://lnkd.in/dJxgnF3E

Do you think your customer conversations are getting more difficult? According to the 2025 Contact Centre Best Practice Report by SMAART Recruitment, “burnout from difficult customer conversations” is now one of the top three reasons frontline agents leave across banking, superannuation, and health insurance. It’s no surprise - as automation handles the easy stuff, agents are left with the complex, emotional calls that define your customer experience. So how are you supporting them? AI Assist, the latest feature in SpoknAI, acts like a conversation coach - reviewing calls and surfacing the moments that matter most: missed opportunities, compliance risks, tone, and empathy cues. Instead of reacting to issues after the fact, you can coach proactively and improve performance before it impacts CX. We’ve been helping contact centres turn tougher conversations into stronger performance. Chat to our team to learn how. #ConversationAnalytics #ContactCentre #AI

A month on from releasing our Shaping Open Banking Together report, we’re taking a moment to reflect on how far we’ve come – and where we’re headed next. It’s been six years since the mahi to enable open banking in Aotearoa first began, and the past 12 months have marked a real turning point. ✔️ End of May 2024: ANZ, ASB Bank, Bank of New Zealand, and Westpac began supporting Version 2.1 of Payment Initiation APIs. This milestone was celebrated at our first Open Banking Showcase, which brought together the open banking ecosystem in Aotearoa to demonstrate in-person what open banking solutions can look like. ✔️ August 2024: The Commerce Commission authorised Payments NZ to develop an industry accreditation scheme and default contract terms for API partnerships — opening the way for smoother, more consistent onboarding between banks and third parties. ✔️ November 2024: The four major banks implemented Version 2.1 of Account Information APIs, enabling greater access to consumer data. We also hosted our second Open Banking Showcase of the year at The Point 2024, highlighting real-world applications of open banking. ✔️ May 2025: The four major banks began supporting Version 2.3 of Payment Initiation APIs, introducing enduring consent and decoupled authentication — key functionality for scalable, user-friendly open banking services. ✔️ June 2025: We marked a major ecosystem milestone at our industry event and launched Ngā Tohu Ārahi – Data Handling Guidelines, reflecting our commitment to inclusive, ethical data practices grounded in Māori Data Sovereignty. ✔️ Coming November 2025: The four major banks will implement Version 2.3 of Account Information APIs, unlocking expanded datasets, early joint account functionality, and laying the groundwork for even richer use cases. ✔️ Coming 2026: Kiwibank will support both Payment Initiation and Account Information API Standards, supported by Wych, in 2026. Across the industry, momentum is building. From accreditation pathways to developer toolkits, we’re working with providers and third parties to make open banking more accessible, secure, and impactful – so innovation can thrive, and people in Aotearoa can benefit. 📘 Shaping Open Banking Together captures six years of collective progress – and outlines what’s next. 🔗 Read the full report in the comments. 📊 ANZ Property Focus – November 2025 Snapshot The latest ANZ Property Focus report is out, offering key insights into New Zealand’s housing market: 🏡 Market Trends Nationwide house prices remain flat, with rural areas seeing modest gains while Auckland and Wellington continue to soften. ANZ has nudged its 2025 house price forecast up to 0.5–1.0%, citing signs of post-winter stabilisation. 💰 Affordability & Costs RBNZ rate cuts are easing homeownership costs, helping restore balance between owning and renting. Rent inflation is cooling, especially in major centres like Wellington and Auckland. However, high council rates and insurance premiums continue to weigh on household budgets. 📉 Mortgage & Lending Mortgage rates are falling, with the 18-month term now the lowest. Borrowers may benefit from locking in longer terms. 📈 Market Outlook Indicators like auction clearance rates and time to sell point to a steady not booming market. ANZ projects modest growth in 2026, supported by economic recovery, but flags potential risks such as capital gains tax discussions.

It starts small. A missed superannuation payment deadline. Easy to overlook, easy to “fix later.” But the consequences? Anything but minor. - A compliance audit triggered - Penalties spiralling into hundreds of thousands - Employees questioning your company’s integrity - Regulators watching your every move And at the end of it all, who’s accountable? You, the Director. This isn’t a hypothetical. It’s happening to businesses across Australia right now. Under superannuation law, missing a payment doesn’t just mean “catching up.” It activates the Superannuation Guarantee Charge (SGC): - The shortfall - An interest charge - An administrative fee Fail to lodge a Superannuation Guarantee Statement (SGS) on time? The penalty can equal 100% of the shortfall. In one tribunal case, an employer delayed disclosure due to illness and financial hardship. The penalty? Over $200,000. The court’s message was clear: excuses don’t matter. So ask yourself: ✅ Are your systems flagging super deadlines before they escalate? ✅ Do you have processes to lodge SGS forms immediately? ✅ Can you confidently say you’re compliant every time? A single mistake can trigger ATO penalties or spark Fair Work disputes. That’s why at Workstem, you can: ✅ Enjoy fully automated payroll workflows ✅ Automatic calculation with on-time Fair Work pay rate updates via API ✅ Have built in Super rate updates ✅ Employees get clear, compliant payslips ✅ One-click STP2 reporting complaint with ATO No matter the size of your business, we are here to help. We’ll handle the updates behind the scenes so your people don’t miss out on a better future. Superannuation funds are under growing pressure to deliver better member experiences while working with systems that were never designed for today’s expectations. At Superware, we help funds bridge that gap by building solutions that bring together the information teams actually need. 'Superannuation companies are using a CRM provided by their administrator, which doesn't have a lot of information. So what Superware is doing is building a CRM…where we collaborate with the member, the employer, the financial data…providing a unified system for them.' - Mir Danish Ali, Chief Product Officer By connecting data across members, employers, and financial systems, funds gain the visibility they need to serve, engage, and operate more effectively.
