The AFL is engrained in the fabric of Australia. Our vision is for everyone to love and connect with Australia's game.
About us
The AFL is an extraordinary force across the sporting, social, and cultural landscape. Our vision is for everyone to love and connect with Australia’s game. We have a strong workforce presence in most States and Territories of Australia including Northern Territory, QLD, NSW / ACT, Victoria and Tasmania. As an organisation, the AFL works tirelessly around the country at all levels to enhance and grow Australia’s game – from grassroots to the elite level. We are focused on ensuring we attract and retain great people in both permanent and casual roles at all levels and within all areas of our industry. Importantly, we aim to reflect the communities where our game is played by recruiting locally where possible to strengthen our connection to the ‘grassroots’ of our game. The AFL's purchase of Marvel Stadium in Docklands, Melbourne, further diversifies our workforce with more than 1000 casuals employed to make every moment matter for our fans and customers.

As part of the AFL's Cultural Diversity Action Plan, Community Connect is a program dedicated to strengthening communities through football and creating a legacy of future generations who love Australia’s game. The AFL recently rolled out our Community Connect program with community organisations, schools and local leaders in North Parramatta with the aim of increasing access to our game by reducing barriers, providing flexible participation opportunities, and creating welcoming environments where people of all backgrounds feel a sense of belonging in football. We're committed to giving more people the chance across the country to connect with and love footy. We're proud to share that AFL Workplay has launched a brand-new suite of professional learning and development offerings, strengthening the off-field career support available to women in our elite football pathways. Through partnership with Making The Call - pathway program, the very first Workplay development offering was delivered this week, with 18 AFLW (current, former and aspiring) players immersing in a Media and Broadcast Career Pathways Program demonstrating their passion and appetite for influencing the sports media landscape. Not only were athletes exposed to a variety of media and broadcast training sessions, they heard from inspirational guest speakers from the AFL and AFL Media, Seven Network and Making the Call.
