Cognitive RF Project: University of Wollongong ASR Defence Pty Ltd and Mellori Solutions are jointly supervising a challenging project for University of Wollongong engineering students. 5 students will develop a cognitive RF systems testbed. Cognitive RF systems are essentially closed-loop control systems, but in the RF domain. They bring AI, RF engineering, software engineering and electronics expertise to this multidisciplinary problem. This uses the underlying Vanguard philosophy but in a different way. One part of the team will develop the adaptive communication system, while the others will build a cognitive electronic attack to interfere with their reception.

XM2 Earth and ASR Defence – Elevated Persistent Surveillance ASR Defence Pty Ltd and XM2 Earth have signed an MOU, kicking off a collaboration to develop next-generation sensing capabilities on tethered drone platforms. The collaboration combines XM2 Earth's autonomous world-leading tethered drone technology with ASR Defence’s Low Size, Weight and Power Vanguard EW and sensing.  This is about unlocking persistent, elevated awareness with low-SWaP systems, and exploring new ways to deploy sensing where and when it’s needed most. ASR Defence, an AOC Industry Partner, is pleased to be presenting at the AOC ANZ 2026, 11-13th March 2026 in Canberra. We will be presenting our thoughts on Agile RF Labs. These are kits that support the rapid prototyping of SDR and RF/digital signal processing techniques. In a second presentation, we present our approach to autonomous sensing using low SWaP radar and EW technology coupled with resource management across a network of sensors. We highlight the integration of distributed Threat Evaluation and Weapon Assignment (TEWA) in the electromagnetic domain and the possibility of doing advanced radar functionality with minimal hardware, through signal processing. https://www.ewanz.org/

ASR Defence has become an AOC Partner. The Association of Old Crows (AOC) is an international organisation that brings together practitioners of Electronic Warfare. ASR Defence is an EW, Radar and Battlespace control company. It's main product, Vanguard, is an autonomous distributed EW and Radar system, especially developed for the Grey Zone and hybrid operations. www.crows.org

ASR Defence's CEO, Dr Len Sciacca will be speaking on the need to focus industry (and the nation) on electromagnetic combat technologies (ECT) - and the emerging "Agile Lab" which is required to keep pace with ECT in modern day conflicts.
