𝗦𝗲𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗥𝗲𝘃𝗶𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗱: 𝗔𝗿𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗳𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗮𝗿 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗘𝗡 𝟱𝟬𝟳𝟮𝟲?   As a security manager, operator of critical infrastructure or public institution (e.g. schools, hospitals or transport systems), you have a huge responsibility for ensuring workplace safety and protecting human life.   The new European standard 𝗘𝗡 𝟱𝟬𝟳𝟮𝟲-𝟭 sets a new benchmark for planning and operating 𝗘𝗺𝗲𝗿𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗰𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗗𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗿 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗲 𝗦𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗺𝘀 (EDRS).   𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗱𝗼𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗺𝗲𝗮𝗻 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘆𝗼𝘂? For the first time, the standard establishes Europe-wide mandatory 𝗿𝗲𝗾𝘂𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗿𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆, 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗹 during emergencies (e.g. active threats, medical emergencies, fires, …). It requires the implementation of systematic alerting and clear responsibilities in order to shorten response times and prevent chaos.   𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗲𝗻𝗱 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗰𝗼𝗺 𝗦𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗺𝘀 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗘𝗗𝗥𝗦 𝘀𝗼𝗹𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻. Today we had the pleasure of welcoming an international delegation from ALPS (The Austrian Leadership Programme) of the #AustrianFederalMinistryEuropeanAndInternationalAffairs - Bundesministerium für europäische und internationale Angelegenheiten (MFA Austria) bringing together participants from all five continents. Visits like these demonstrate how valuable global exchange can be. They help build bridges into new countries, create understanding, and strengthen relationships with partners who are often already in close contact with Austria’s ADVANTAGE AUSTRIA network. Our colleagues KommR Georg Winkler and Johann Linortner hosted the group, introduced them to COMMEND, and engaged in a range of insightful and inspiring discussions. Several promising new connections were made that we are excited to explore further. And finally, a word of appreciation: it is essential for Salzburg to be presented to such delegations not only as a cultural hub, but also as a strong business and innovation location with successful companies. The photos from the Ministry’s offices capture the moment of the signing between Federal Austrian Police Director Michael Takacs and our colleagues Christine Bernroider and Klaus Hirschegger, marking a strong and forward-looking commitment to safer public spaces. The cooperation focuses on: 👉 Earlier detection of risks in public buildings and public spaces 👉 Faster, clearer situational awareness for emergency services 👉 Communication that is more reliable, more understandable, and built for real-world operations This partnership will create solutions that significantly enhance the #safety of people in public buildings, hospitals, train stations, and busy urban areas, while also enabling #emergencyteams to assess #criticalsituations even faster and with greater precision. At the EPS Kostolac site, operators working on the new TEKOB3-081-BWSR coal spreader can now rely on clear, instant communication across the entire machine – even in extreme noise and vibration. A fully IP-based Commend system ensures that control cabin staff and conveyor-side personnel stay connected at all times, with no delays and no misunderstandings.
