This policy explains what happens to information when you play Alphabetish at alphabetish.com. The site is operated by Morning Sun Games, an independent games studio based in the United Kingdom.
The short version: Alphabetish has no accounts and no user database. Your game progress is stored in your own browser and never sent to us. Third parties such as our advertising provider may set cookies, and you can control those.
None. Alphabetish does not ask for your name, email address, date of birth or any other personal detail. There is no registration, no login and no user account. I do not operate a database of players.
The only time you would give us personal information is if you choose to email us, in which case I hold that email in order to reply to you and for no other purpose.
The game uses a standard browser feature called localStorage to remember your progress. This is storage that lives inside your own browser, on your own device. It is not transmitted to us or to anyone else.
What is stored there:
You can delete all of this at any time by clearing your browser's site data for alphabetish.com. Doing so will permanently erase your stats and streaks, because I hold no copy of them.
Alphabetish displays advertising in order to remain free to play. Advertising is served by third-party providers, including Google AdSense.
Where required by law, I ask for your consent before non-essential cookies are set. You may change or withdraw that consent at any time using the privacy settings icon displayed on the site, which reopens the consent panel.
You can also block or delete cookies through your browser's own settings. Blocking cookies will not stop the game working.
I may use privacy-respecting analytics to understand how many people visit the site and which pages they use. This tells us about traffic in aggregate. It is not used to identify individual players.
The site is hosted by DreamHost. Like virtually all web hosts, their servers keep standard access logs which may include IP addresses, browser type and pages requested. These logs exist for security and technical reasons and are handled under our host's own policies.
The game links out to third-party services, including Ko-fi and Facebook. Once you follow a link away from alphabetish.com, that service's own privacy policy applies, not this one. I have no control over how those services handle your data.
Alphabetish is a general-audience music puzzle and is not directed at children under 13. I do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Under UK GDPR and the EU GDPR you have rights over your personal data, including the right to access it, correct it, have it erased, and to complain to a supervisory authority. In the UK that authority is the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
In practice, because I hold no personal data about players, there is generally nothing for us to access, correct or erase. Your game data is under your own control in your browser. If you have emailed us and would like that correspondence deleted, just ask.
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new "last updated" date. Significant changes will be flagged inside the game.
