Getting started
AcornRetain installs in minutes, with no engineering project. Here's the shape of it.
How do you reduce churn with a Stripe cancellation flow?
Intercept the cancel button instead of letting it cancel the subscription directly. Show a short survey asking why the subscriber is leaving, then make one offer built from a Stripe object you already have — a coupon, a paused subscription, a different price, or more trial time — and apply it to their live Stripe subscription automatically if they accept. The four steps below are how AcornRetain wires that up.
1. Connect your Stripe account
Create an AcornRetain account and connect Stripe. AcornRetain uses your existing Stripe coupons, prices, and plans to build offers; it never mints new billing objects.
2. Configure your cancel flow
In the dashboard, build a short survey and choose the offers you're willing to make: a discount, a pause, a plan change, or a trial extension. Set any cooldowns or caps that keep offers from being farmed.
3. Install the snippet
Add the AcornRetain snippet to your app and point your existing cancel button at it. When a customer clicks cancel, the flow opens in place, with no redirect and no new page to build.
4. Go live and measure
Publish your flow. AcornRetain records each session, applies accepted offers to Stripe, and reports your save rate, outcomes, top cancel reasons, and estimated revenue saved.
Detailed setup guides live in your dashboard once you're signed up. Designing the survey itself is covered in cancellation survey best practices. Questions before then? Contact us.
