Out of order after 13 months, just after the warranty expire in most countries... In France the warranty is 2 years but Google refuse to acknowledge it. Best to avoid Google Pixel in the future.

just picked this up to replace my iphone 8, got it the peony colour and love it, just cant find the official google case anywhere in the uk though

Don't use their cloud then. Use instead a cloud with zero-knowledge encryption, meaning all your files are encrypted on your device before they are ever uploaded to the cloud.
