Anonymous, 25 Jul 2026Total waste like all other flip phones. Style over substance I like how I never have to worry about flip phones falling out of my pocket no matter what. I even had my S23 fall out from time to time. With my Flip 6 and Razr Ultra, that's never an issue. I can even workout in the gym and run on the park trails and keep them in my pocket with no chance of them falling out.

flip8 is a phone that is not well thought by Samsung. It does not need an ultra expensive top flagship chipset Qualcomm SM8850-1-AD Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5. It needs excellent midrange power efficient chipset and a budget telephoto lens for the same money!!!

Unless this has been changed, the black plastic bezel around the screen will fail at the hinge. The small hinge cover slides under the inside of the bezel which hardens then breaks off, causing the hinge cover to expose the inner workings. This is NOT covered by the warranty

They stopped paying Qualcomm's heavy chip tax, built custom silicon around Samsung's Exynos base, heavily marketed the AI tricks, and pocketed the margin gap. Now Samsung is pulling the exact same playbook on their own phones.

Same goes to the base S series which gets only SoC upgrade and Samsung calls it a day, they're trying to push people to buy their top end flagship but unfortunately even the top are suffering the same. They used to be the first to innovate newer technology and cramp up every latest hardware into their S or Note series, I miss their Note 3 and 4 era.

I get it, Z Flip8 are using small-ish sensor for their ultrawide(1/3.2" sensor) but ye gotta factor in the ISP equipped on a flagship SoC. Ye can't compare a midrange SoC gonna perform better than a flagship SoC.

Nearly no upgrades whatsoever, I mean this is closer to a rebranded Z Flip7, than an actual successor to it. Literally just an SoC upgrade. The least they could've done is give AF to the ultrawide camera, which is such a basic feature at this point.
