Bought this phone used, but in a good condition, after 6 years of using and abusing an LG G4.
Overall fantastic but too big, it felt overwhelmingly giant for the first two weeks, had to add spacers to my anki cards!
Now after 5ish months of usage I still think it's too big even if I got used to it, if the screen were an inch shorter it would be a perfect device hardwarewise.
It's still probably the best one.
Preloaded software needed some cleanup (with adb console bcs some of the useless trash here is not able to be uninstalled without it) but after that the battery life was great.
Very minor gripes are that screen is not more scratch resistant than average so without a screen protector some scratches will appear, and how samsung built-in (overbarring the tinkerer) security probably means that in 5+ years there won't be custom roms for this device.

This thing is crazy good with the price cuts in mind. The issues go as far as being completely unweildy in size and also having an ancient feeling camera. My previous phone ran android 5 !! and the cameras between that and this are basically equivalent !!!!

All in all I'm never gonna find a phone small enough to actually make me happy, I'm talking like 65mm wide MAX I have baby hands gimmie a baby phone. If my thumb can't reach the opposite end of the screen then it doesn't matter if it's by 1 or 12mm so I'm contemptfully content to live with THE DUKE, not his fault for being big boned blame big tech or something :'(

A rugged phone with impressive butter smooth performance. OneUI 8 runs flawlessly. It feels a little oversized and it's nearly impossible to operate without both hands. Quite pleasantly surprised to find out its Snapdragon processor supports Camera 2 API, which means most of the mainstream Gcam can run on this phone!

The strange thing is , my battery still takes over 2hr to fast charge from dead to full .
Which would indicate that my battery is still good .

Oh well! I'll keep a charger on standby.

I just bought a xcover 6 pro and first thing I did was update it to android 15 and my SOT is about 4hr (interneting and some light gaming ) which seems rather low, even for a 4000mah battery .

Whats your experience with the battery life .
I've heard most people were getting around 7hr SOT , so either my batteries duff or android 15 eats power .

I have now had the opportunity to test the higher capacity battery of the Xcover7 Pro in the Xcover6 Pro. While it fits perfectly and powers the phone, it cannot be charged in the phone. The Xcover6 Pro will warn you that charging is paused, and that you should connect a compatible charger.

The battery of the Xcover7 Pro has two additional contact plates for which the Xcover6 Pro has no matching pins. I don't know if it is feasible to fake something there.

I think it is quite disappointing that Samsung introduces restrictions like that. Clearly the new battery could fit and work in the Xcover6 Pro, but Samsung decided to keep it exclusive to the Xcover7 Pro - likely in the last minute.

I'm absolutely thrilled with my Samsung Galaxy XCover Pro 6! This phone meets all my technical and mechanical expectations. Its durable design and weather resistance make it the perfect choice for me.

The camera takes great photos, the battery lasts a long time, and the interface is intuitive and easy to use. The phone is also very reliable, and I haven't had any issues with it.

I recommend the Samsung Galaxy XCover Pro 6 to anyone looking for a solid and reliable phone that meets their needs. 5 stars without hesitation!" ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ

Probably time to try some alternative launchers. But good to have Android 15, seems to work alright so far.

Judging by the timelines from previous phones I would expect Samsung to announce the new XCover during April.

The successor has been TรœV-certified (https://www.certipedia.com/certificates/03170960?locale=en) and Geekbench-ed (https://browser.geekbench.com/v6/cpu/11015532). The latter indicates 6GB RAM, which would be a little disappointing, as that would be no upgrade over the XCover6 Pro.

Sammobile (https://www.sammobile.com/news/galaxy-xcover-8-pro-50-faster-xcover-6-pro/) talks of two new phones, XCover7 Pro and XCover8 Pro, but I suspect they are just confusing things. The X8P name was never even rumored, it was just an early public extrapolation based on Samsung's previous namings. The model number SM-G766* and the name XCover7 Pro on the other hand were both in actual leaks. Hence I think this is all just about one device, the XCover7 Pro, and there is no XCover8 Pro upcoming now.
