An interesting and bold step that Huawei took on the processor. They introduced Kirin as the core for its device instead of common chipsets in the market. GSMArena has conducted a test to it and it seems it passed the test already as GSMArena didn't raise on it any negative wording. I am seeking it become a great rival over Mediatek or even Snapdragon in the future and provide budget friendly chipset alternative. As for chipset developed by Samsung, I believe Exynos won't allow its chipset will be easily relegated. For me, the intriguing matter about processor is it rarely comes with equal clock speed on all cores where it absolutely can increase the performance stability.

ShaneKR, 29 Dec 2024But emui is android and harmonyos is not right? No, EMUI is absolutely different thing from HarmonyOS. HarmonyOS is Chinese self-developed OS and EMUI is an Android skin just like OneUI, OxygenOS, HyperOS and etc. Because, HarmonyOS uses HongMeng Kernel, not Linux kernel.

Pixels since Pixel 1 have either low build quality or poor hardware quality control because of extreme cost cutting. Tensor is Google's way to maintain profit margins when Qualcomm's flagship chipsets getting more expensive but as always, cost cutting seems to be the main agenda.

The 50MP mode would have looked phenomenal had the optics been sharp across the frame. Huawei's lens QC has been missing the mark since the Leica collaboration ended a few years ago, a real shame to say the least.

I'm just wishing that the rumour of the DJI x Huawei collab will turn out to be true. Huawei's image processing prowess cannot be underestimated, and DJI's camera drones would benefit from exactly that.

Too bad that it can barely compete with Tensor G4, has no Google services and pretty bad battery life. As nice at it looks, that is just not good enough for what they value it at.

All these chinese worshippers talk about a bit better benchmark number compared to tensor but of course suddenly become blind when it comes to that abysmal battery endurance that lot worse compared to tensor which infamous with bad battery endurance

So what's Google's excuse for continuing to sell Pixels with mediocre CPU performance/efficiency that even a sanctioned company like Huawei could surpass?

Tensor really is a joke of a "flagship" SoC - If they intend to keep doing this, they really should start selling Pixels as mid-rangers instead of pretending like they are somehow remotely competitive with high-end offerings from other manufacturers.

It also feels weird to see such a stellar camera performance from a foldable. The only thing that is holding it back is the uneven sharpness of the lens, but the image processing is absolutely superb and easily matches (or even surpasses) the X100 Ultra when it comes to detail rendition at the very centre of the frame. 2x digital crop is nothing short of outstanding, either.

What the heck? I thought smaller transistors mean higher efficiency.

Infinix is not interesting. I'm waiting for the test/review of the OnePlus 13. Gsmarena please do the test of the OnePlus 13. If it exceeds iqoo 13 in autonomy then it's the right choice.

Seeing it perform better CPU-wise compared to the Tensor G4 is so funny to me. Is it that difficult for Google to improve their processors, when Huawei is able to understand sanctions??
