Not surprising. This is just HTC in name, not essence. Just like the new Nokia by HMD.
It's sad to see this company fail, as i have had great experiences with their phones in the past. Back in the days when the likes of Samsung & LG were releasing plastic cheap-looking phones, HTC was releasing metal premium-looking ones. Good old days!

I expected it to be bad, but not that terrible. I thought HTC could maybe one day make decent phones again, but it looks like they won't. The U23 Pro is so overpriced it should cost max $300. Especially the design and software, it looks like those generic Chinese phones even tho it's none of those.

Disappointing, but not like it was expecting it to be great. It does have some redeeming features like the SD slot, 3.5mm jack and clean Android, but the awful choice of chipset plus the completely out of their mind price bracket makes it a "no" in my book. Maybe next time

Where are those commenters who said HTC can optimise the SD7gen1 better than other OEMs? Just look at the worst battery life among phones with SD7gen1.
3.8 score is too generous for the amount of drawbacks that this phone has. Seems like pity score from the review team. Those that said will buy this phone, feel free to throw your money into the drain as you please.

Can't believe this is the same company that started the stereo speaker revolution and the 4.0 mp ultrapixel camera. HTC was a legend and I recall it being as aspirational as an iPhone

So many better options out there for cheaper.
This phone is dead on arrival.
HTC you had one job and quite a lot of time to make a decent comeback.

Apparently the 7 gen 1 is terrible at battery performance in any phone

The phone is literally ruined by 7 gen 1. All these problems like poor battery life, throttling etc are caused by this
