This phone does not work on 5G in Ireland. This review is accurate and fair in the other things mentioned too and apart from the above it is a good phpne. However it was a big mistake buying it because it does not do 5G everywhere. Oneplus have disabled it via the software . And Oneplus don't want to engage about when/if they will fix it. Its the first time I bought a Oneplus but I will never buy one again as a result of the 5G issue.

Finally the truth every reviewer should say over and over again:
"Curved display is a usability nightmare"
Please, stop using these curved displays. We had them in XX century and had done everything for flat display and now they've come back as nightmare

In India retailers and resellers overstock OnePlus 8 Pro like they used to do iPhones earlier and make small quick bucks through online classifieds. OnePlus has become a premium mobile in India. 8 Pro beats everyone! I tried hard to justify other mobiles including cheaper RealMe OQOO 3 etc...OP8P smokes everything

Except for the fact that this phone was advertised as a dual SIM phone, but use of a second SIM has yet to be enabled on the worldwide model. I am still carrying my previous OnePlus 7 Pro because I need a second SIM active. This is extremely disappointing.

Also sucks sucks the 8 series is completely plagued by MMS issues making it almost completely unreliable.

It is a bummer they disabled/broken IR camera.
Instead of listening outraged people because it allows to see through clothes (some thin synthetic fabrics) they should counter it with argument that IR cameras allows to easily detect hidden cameras in Airbnbs which is a much greater privacy threat.

Anonymous, 07 Sep 2020Connects with my fossil 5gen perfect every time.I have three Wear OS watches and it never connects correctly with any of them. Also there is a dedicated section full of complaints on OnePlus Community app.
Btw, the connection issue affects apps and Google Assistant, so if you don't use those and you just use notifications and fitness tracking, then you may have not noticed the issue.

Unique cameras is what may bring sales up several fold, raw, super resolution, thermal, ir or night mode(big pixel) sensors are certainly intriguing. Here is example of ir/thermal one on utub youtu.be/UvOvC1xYhsU?t=1051 .
Regular+flir+IR setup would be surely awesome, still no one though. Just x-ray, lidar and it would be like predator vision from AvP.

They actually throw away ordinary feature in photo world(not in smartphone one though). But don't worry IR loving people as oukitel wp7 got such 5mp ir camera that works and nobody is sued yet. Actually thin clothes are see-through even for ordinary camera, just that some black/etc. dyes on super thin clothes are just semi-transparent. No body features, no naked people, maybe dimmed down color print or shadow of tattoo.
Bad choice oneplus.
