Introduction and specs

Compact flagships are becoming a rare breed, especially if you want one without compromising on the cameras. That's precisely where the Pixel 11 Pro comes in. Google's latest 6.3-inch Pro is small by today's standards, yet it packs nearly all of the hardware of its larger Pro XL sibling.

The Pixel 11 Pro slots in between the vanilla Pixel 11, which shares its compact footprint but makes some concessions in the camera department, and the larger Pixel 11 Pro XL. So, if you want Google's full-fledged flagship experience but find the Pro XL a bit too big for your pocket, the Pixel 11 Pro is the obvious choice.

The most notable upgrade this year is, of course, the chipset. The Pixel 11 Pro runs on Google's new Tensor G6, promising improved performance and efficiency. We've put both claims to the test to see how much of an upgrade it really is.

Google Pixel 11 Pro specs at a glance:

  • Body: 152.7x71.9x8.4mm, 204g; Glass front (Gorilla Glass Victus 2), glass back (Gorilla Glass Victus 2), aluminum frame; IP68 dust-tight and water-resistant (up to 1.5m depth for 30 min).
  • Display: 6.30" LTPO OLED, 120Hz, HDR10+, 2400 nits (HBM), 3600 nits (peak), 1280x2856px resolution, 20.08:9 aspect ratio, 497ppi.
  • Chipset: Google Tensor G6 (3 nm).
  • Memory: 256GB 12GB RAM, 512GB 16GB RAM, 1TB 16GB RAM; UFS 4.x.
  • OS/Software: Android 17, up to 7 major OS updates.
  • Rear camera: Wide (main): 50 MP, f/1.7, 25mm, 1/1.3", 1.2µm, multi-directional PDAF, OIS; Telephoto: 48 MP, f/2.8, 106mm, 1/1.95", dual pixel PDAF, OIS, 5x optical zoom; Ultra wide angle: 48 MP, f/1.7, 123˚, 1/2.51", dual pixel PDAF.
  • Front camera: 42 MP, f/2.2, 103˚ (ultrawide), PDAF.
  • Video capture: Rear camera: 8K@24/30fps, 4K@24/30/60fps, 1080p@24/30/60/120/240fps; gyro-EIS, OIS, 10-bit HDR; Front camera: 4K@30/60fps, 1080p@30/60fps.
  • Battery: 4850mAh; 30W wired, PD3.0, PPS, 55% in 30 min, 25W wireless (magnetic), Qi2.2, Reverse wired, Bypass charging.
  • Connectivity: 5G; eSIM; Wi-Fi 7; BT 6.0, aptX HD; NFC.
  • Misc: Fingerprint reader (under display, ultrasonic); stereo speakers; Ultra Wideband (UWB) support; SOS Satellite messaging service.

The display is more familiar. It's still a 6.3-inch LTPO OLED with a 120Hz refresh rate, much like the one on the Pixel 10 Pro, though Google promises higher brightness this time around. Not that last year's model was lacking in that department.

At first glance, the camera hardware also looks largely unchanged, but there are a couple of notable upgrades beneath the surface. The 48MP telephoto camera now uses a considerably larger sensor, while the ultrawide gets a new and marginally larger one as well. Whether those changes translate into better photos is something we'll find out.

Interestingly, battery capacity has actually gone down, though only by a negligible 20 mAh to 4,850 mAh. Wireless charging gets a much more meaningful upgrade, with 25W magnetic Qi2.2 support replacing the previous 15W solution. Wired charging, however, remains capped at 30W, which is rather disappointing for a flagship in 2026.

Unboxing the Google Pixel 11 Pro

The Pixel 11 Pro comes in its usual modest package containing only the user manuals and a USB-C to USB-C cable used for charging and data transfer.

You will have to buy the charger separately.

As there is a lot of misinformation on the internet, I want to stress that Pixel phones also use AI at low zoom settings. Already the Pixel 3 used AI for digital zoom (actually even already the Nexus 5x, but less extreme than the Pixel 3), this was o...

It seems that 50 megapixel portraits are not available for the periscope camera.

To be honest the only good thing about it is that it leaves the streams open for 3rd party apps so you can easily use the cameras to their full potential (not that there's much of it). Yeah it's cool that it allows you to force the full res...
