6. Final words, our verdict, pros and cons

The competition

The Poco F7 is shaping up to be a solid mid-range contender. It's available in two memory configurations - 12/256GB and 12/512GB - priced at €450 and €500, respectively, with early bird discounts bringing them down to €400 and €450.

In the UK, the same models go for £389 and £429, or £319 and £359 if you catch them early. That's a compelling deal considering the performance on tap, courtesy of the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 and the gorgeous AMOLED display.

One obvious competitor in this space is the Samsung Galaxy A56, which leans more heavily into the Samsung ecosystem and long-term software support. You get a clean, mature One UI experience, class-leading update policy, a solid Super AMOLED display, and decent stereo speakers. However, the Galaxy's performance lags behind the Poco F7's, especially when it comes to gaming and heavier multitasking, and charging speeds remain conservative compared to Poco's speedy implementation.

Another alternative comes from within Poco's own ranks - the Poco X7 Pro. It shares a similar software experience and build, but has a slightly less powerful chipset and a lower-tier display resolution. However, the X7 Pro often undercuts the F7 on price, so it might appeal to budget-conscious users who don't need the absolute best performance Poco offers.

Motorola Edge 60 undercuts the Poco F7 on price slightly yet lands a few blows of its own: a brighter 4,500-nit 6.67-inch 1.5 K pOLED, full IP68/69 sealing, Qi (and reverse) wireless in addition to 68 W wired charging, and a more flexible camera trio with a true 10 MP 3× telephoto beside its dual 50 MP wide + ultrawide pair. What you give up is brute force—the Edge’s Dimensity 7300 can’t touch the F7’s Snapdragon 8s Gen 4—and the Poco still offers a larger 6,500 mAh battery and quicker 90 W top-ups on a slightly bigger panel. If brighter screen, optical zoom and wireless charging trump raw speed for you, the Moto is a sweet money-saver.

vivo iQOO Neo 10 is another Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 mid-ranger worth a look. It pushes endurance hard with a huge 7,000 mAh battery and lightning-quick 120 W charging, plus a slightly smaller but faster 6.78-inch 144 Hz AMOLED panel. You do lose a few Poco perks, though: the panel sticks to the same 1.5 K class resolution, there’s only a basic 50 MP + 8 MP rear combo, no reverse-charging option, and – perhaps most importantly – no official IP68 rating or global launch yet. In other words, you’ll trade the F7’s tougher build, brighter 3,200-nit screen, and wider availability for a bit more battery, quicker top-ups and a snappier refresh rate, provided you can actually source the phone (for now it looks confined to the Indian market).

Our verdict

The Poco F7 lives up to the F-series legacy with yet another well-balanced, performance-first offering that's hard to ignore. It may not break new ground in terms of innovation, but it nails the essentials that make a phone stand out in the crowded $400 segment. The Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 chipset delivers excellent overall performance, whether gaming or just navigating the UI. In fact, the Poco F7 might just be the next budget performance king, thermal concerns aside.

The display is another undeniable highlight. The large, 120Hz AMOLED panel is vibrant, bright, and color-accurate, with Dolby Vision support and a peak auto brightness of over 1,500 nits. Paired with strong battery life from the 6,500 mAh cell and 90W fast charging (charger in the box, thankfully), the Poco F7 is well-equipped for long, intensive usage without compromise.

Build quality is also surprisingly premium, with a metal frame and IP68 ingress protection rounding out a robust package. HyperOS 2 with Android 15 brings the latest software enhancements and AI features, and the phone is promised four major OS updates and six years of security support, which are solid commitments at this price point.

The weakest link remains the camera setup. While the main shooter is capable in good light, and 4K video quality is respectable, the ultrawide and selfie cameras are basic at best. If imaging is your top priority, better-rounded options exist.

Still, for most users looking for sheer speed, solid multimedia, long battery life, and a sharp display-all at a competitive price - the Poco F7 is a fantastic package. The Poco X7 Pro still holds the crown for pure performance-per-dollar, but if history is any indication, the F7's price will drop quickly, potentially turning it into one of the best all-rounders in its class.
