Sony Android Rumors

Sony launched the Xperia 1 VIII, its latest flagship smartphone, back in May, and released it in June. Now we already have a rumor about its successor, which we assume will be called the Xperia 1 IX.

This device will allegedly sport a main camera with a larger sensor than the Xperia 1 VIII's 1/1.35" type. Use of a larger sensor will necessitate more space, so the Xperia 1 IX will apparently have a redesigned camera island, with a larger square area than the Xperia 1 VIII's.

If this pans out, it would be the first time Sony changed its flagship’s main camera sensor since the Xperia 1 V released in 2023. A larger sensor will allow in more light, which has the potential to improve low-light photography especially.

If Sony sticks with its usual launch schedule, the Xperia 1 IX should only become official next year, so there's still plenty of time for more details about it to emerge. Stay tuned.

DPI on display doesn't mean a thing cause pixel consists of subpixels. In print dot is a dot there are no sum of minidots that make a dot. When it comes to screen its actual subpixel coverage that we should be looking at. But at the end of the d...

Ask about BT.2020 again, and you’ll be brought back down to earth sooner than you think. Honestly, I didn't focus on your spiel about BT.2020 because it’s surely of little importance. I’ll repeat: I’ve been working in this color space for severa...
