Samsung dominated the Latin America (LATAM) smartphone scene in 2025, with 4 of the 10 best-selling devices being Galaxy phones. According to the latest Counterpoint Research report, Samsung’s Galaxy A06 topped the list as the best-selling smartphone in the region and accounted for 7% of all smartphone sales in the region for the past year.

Samsung’s Galaxy A16, Galaxy A15 and Galaxy A56 were the other three Galaxy smartphones in the top 10 rankings.

Motorola’s Moto G15 came in third place. The other Moto devices in the top ten are the Moto G05, which slots in sixth place, and the Moto G35, which came in eighth. Xiaomi had the fourth (Redmi 14C), seventh (Redmi A5) and tenth (Redmi Note 14 4G) best-selling phones.

Another notable fact from the report is that 80% of the top-ten best-selling phones in 2025 were 4G devices. Smartphone buyers in the LATAM market continue to display a preference for budget devices, with most of the phones in the top-ten list featuring an average selling price under $200.

Brazil, Mexico, Colombia and Argentina were the four biggest markets in the region for 2025. Global smartphone prices are expected to rise in 2026, which will likely extend replacement cycles and lead to lower demand in most regions, including LATAM. At the same time, this change could lead to accelerated 5G adoption rates in the region.

"Financially limited" :D No it's not. When people periodically have phones stolen off of them, they won't be putting off buying a new phone for long. Unless it just so happens that they then go steal someone else'...

Samsung has a massive assembly line in south America, so they don't get hit as hard with duty fees. Also it's a very financially limited market for phones, the a0x series will reign supreme for many years to come
