Motorola Android Announcement

Motorola launched the Edge 70 Pro in India last week with three 50MP cameras - a primary, an ultrawide, and a selfie. Now, Motorola has introduced the global version of the Edge 70 Pro featuring an additional 50MP camera, which is a periscope telephoto unit with 3.5x optical zoom, 50X "Super Zoom Pro," OIS, and an 81mm equivalent focal length.

The global Edge 70 Pro also supports 15W wireless charging and 5W reverse wireless charging, which you don't get with the Indian model. Furthermore, while the Indian Edge 70 Pro comes in three colorways, the global Edge 70 Pro comes in four.

The Indian model is offered in Pantone Lily White, Pantone Titan, and Pantone Tea colors, whereas the global model is offered in Pantone Chicory Coffee and Pantone Zinfandel, in addition to Pantone Lily White and Pantone Titan.

The Zinfandel version features a back panel with a silk-inspired finish, accented by Pantone Sangria, while the Chicory Coffee has a natural wood finish with hints of Pantone Cocoa Cream. The Lily White has an acetate finish, whereas Titan has a wool-inspired finish.

The Edge 70 Pro with a wood finish is the thickest, at 7.34mm. The one with an acetate finish is 7.29mm thin, while the models with silk and wool-inspired finishes are 7.19mm slim. Regardless of the dimensions, all global Edge 70 Pro colorways weigh 190 g. However, their availability may vary by market.

The rest of the specs of the global Edge 70 Pro are the same as its Indian counterpart, including the Dimensity 8500 Extreme SoC, a 6.78" 144Hz 1,272p AMOLED display, Android 16, and a 6,500 mAh battery with 90W wired and 5W reverse wired charging.

The smartphone also comes with an in-display fingerprint scanner, dual stereo speakers, Dolby Atmos, Hi-Res Audio (wired and wireless), IP68/IP69 rating, MIL-STD-810H certification, and NFC.

Regarding RAM and storage, the press material we received from Motorola says the global Edge 70 Pro has 12GB LPDDR5X RAM and three UFS 4.1 storage options - 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB. However, it's currently listed in the UK and Europe with a 12GB/512GB configuration and two color options - Pantone Zinfandel and Pantone Titan.

In the UK, the Motorola Edge 70 Pro is priced at £749.99. In Europe, it costs €799, except for France, where it's priced at €899. Motorola is offering a free Moto Tag and a Moto 125W power adapter in these regions.

Motorola has said that the global Edge 70 Pro will also be available in the Middle East, Africa, Latin America, and Asia-Pacific in the coming weeks.
