Weekly poll Realme

A couple of weeks ago, Realme launched the 16 Pro and 16 Pro+. Right now, they are only available in India, which is a shame – these two have some impressive specs and though they are a bit pricey, they could have found success in other markets too.

The Realme 16 Pro+ flaunts a 200MP main camera (1/1.56”, OIS) and a 50MP 3.5x periscope (1/2.76”, f/2.8, OIS), plus an 8MP ultra-wide camera and a 50MP selfie module. It’s not perfect (video stabilization and ultra-wide videos in particular being substandard), but it is better than most mid-range phones – many of which don’t even have a dedicated telephoto camera.

In our review, the phone’s 7,000mAh battery achieved one of the highest Active Use Scores in its class (18:18h). The 80W charging system wasn’t as fast as we would have liked, but it was still plenty fast. The downside of the Pro+ is that at a starting price of ₹40,000 (for a lowly 8/128GB config no less), it is ₹10,000 higher than some of its competition.

The Realme 16 Pro is cheaper, but at ₹32,000 it still costs more than some competing mid-rangers. While we haven’t reviewed it yet, it has the same 200MP main camera as the Pro+ (which showed impressive skill in 2x zoom) and the same 7,000mAh battery with 80W charging. However, it loses the periscope, which made the Pro+ special, and it has a less impressive chipset too – a Dimensity 7300 Max instead of the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4.

There are a few other downgrades like a plastic frame instead of aluminum and a different glass over the screen. Still, the periscope and the chipset are the main reasons to go with the Pro+ – and saving ₹8,000 is the main reason to go with the Pro.

When I buy a phone the camera is the least consideration.

You haven't mentioned a single advantage and you've argued that it's pointless. If you disagree with yourself, that's a different problem.

Show me where I said "no benefit." Your bias already have you made up your own reality. So whatever. Enjoy your delusion.
