Ayaneo Gaming Android

Ayaneo, known for its exhaustive range of portable handheld gaming devices, has announced the new Pocket Air Mini retro gaming handheld. Designed with older emulated titles in mind, the Pocket Air Mini is the first of its kind to feature a 4:3 display.

The display is the Pocket Air Mini's claim to fame. Featuring a 1280x960 resolution in a 4.2-inch size, the 60Hz display on the Pocket Air Mini features the correct 4:3 aspect ratio that most classic and retro games used to have. This would ensure the games fill up the screen completely, without showing any black bars. The display also has 500 nits of peak brightness, and 123% sRGB color coverage with professional-grade color calibration.

The Pocket Air Mini is powered by the MediaTek Helio G90T, a rather old chip by today's standards but one that should be adequate for emulating retro games. The device has active cooling in the form of a fan, which should let you get the most out of the chip.

The Pocket Air Mini has a compact design that's just 6.5 inches across, and weighs 269g. It uses RGB Hall effect joysticks as well as Hall triggers, with conductive rubber ABXY buttons and classic D-pad. You also get USB-C connectivity, 3.5mm headphone jack, microSD expansion, Wi-Fi 5, and Bluetooth 5. The device is fueled by a 4500mAh battery.
