You're signing up for... moreIn Lithuania when you buying phone from carrier, you pay 2 year payment plan with 0% of interest. As example, Galaxy Fold 8 costs 1918-2018 € (when you buying from carrier i can get discount ~250€, so it costs 1768€ when i trade in my S25 ultra ~588€ + 100€ bonus from samsung) so Fold 8 now costs 1080 € / 24 month = 45€ / month. In my opinion its not so expensive, cos for my S25 Ultra I paid 1199€ a year ago :)

When it leaves their posession, it counts as a sale and Samsung makes their money no matter what the carrier or retailer decides to sell it for. That's why shipments are calculated instead of direct sales to consumers.
This is not a Samsung thing. Everyone does that.
