Just cause US can't rip off China cheap labor then now everything China is doing is bad ? Using same methods as US does and China is bad ? While US using same methods as Ru$$!a and US is not bad on that ? Chinese ancient technology is basically used all around the world on building ships, dams, pumping oil and all sorts of things.
It's how countries evolve as they learn from others. It's a good example as how China catch up with the rest of the world in technology and have gone past the West in just last 100 years while most African countries are in bad conditions cause they don't want to learn from others and evolve on their own.

That massive need of massive camera island makes it really limited to make anything different then others have done already. Google Pixel have been doing this design on the camera island for the longest time and changed it in different form. Pixel is like Porsche 911 that trough time change just enough to look a bit different.
In the end nobody is actually unique. Well at least they have different operation system skins that make them look different trough the OS differences. But then again Xiaomi imitate Apple on that too. Even tough Apple on their side also copy Xiaomi design from 5-6 years ago with their latest iPhone large camera island and well that iPhone slim or what ever also went on the copy trip of Google Pixel camera island so no Xiaomi join the party.
Phones design now days is only on the camera island part basically where they can look different. Back in the day when you had buttons with feature phones aka dumbphones they were able to make different designs but now it's basically only the case around the screen that don't leave any room to be different. Paintjob and camera island is left in the looking different now
