Is is because of memory market normalization,

Q2 2026 was the very last good time to get a new phone IMHO, minus new models. Now it's become a headache.

Skskak, 21 Jul 2026Xiaomi will probably use cxmt ram. Wich is chinese .. Xiaomi has been using CXMT DRAM and YMTC NAND chips in their smartphones since 2023 though that's only for models sold in China, I think(?).

Though you could pay direct attention to what's actually happening with DRAM and NAND by Samsung, SK Hynix and Micron in news. That's usually more credible.

Xiaomi is not the only one that increases its product price. It really helps them that make the increase sales target is just normal where the majority is for entry phones. If the target isn't achieved, they have the reason behind this. Customers are in the situation of wait and see.
The cost for 12GB RAM and 512GB storage combo is 1500 CNY now according to Xiaomi. This missed the details of the RAM type and Storage type. But my best guessed is LPDDR5X for the RAM and UFS 4.1 for the storage. It is speculative when the previous price before the increase is not informed. Can we just accept it as is? Well it is unlikely they lied. So let's rely on the actual unit price and make a good calculation whether a device is worth it.
