I don't like Gemini. I don't WANT Gemini. I will automatically disable Gemini as soon as I get a new device that comes with it preinstalled. End of discussion!

Anonym, 24 Jul 2026Yes you can, with adb: adb shell pm disable-user --user 0 app.name.packageI am still unsure about that and 99,99999% of people will have no idea how to do it.

Boy, it does feel good to use a deGoogled android in this time and age, and everytime i read the news. No AI overload, no google, no privacy issues, less security holes, less battery eating garbageware... I do not know why people still use this Softwares abominations....

You act like downloading apps and playing with Gemini are unavoidable.

Cpt.Power, 19 Jul 2026Glad my AI assistant is turned off for reason. This is seriously broken. Turning it off doesn't prevent it from accessing your data. It must be uninstalled and delete all your data retroactively, in addition to severe economic punishment that's renewed monthly until the data is unrecoverable.

Have you ever read the fine print of the apps you have installed on your devices, some of which cannot be disabled, let alone uninstalled.

In my country there are more surveillance cameras than inhabitants, we're being watched 24/7.

They need to give us the option to turn off the agent from our phone, because that's not good for everyone, it's a toy that helps you, but a lot of access, accounts, everything, it's a trap, tomorrow, you'll be left without an account and everything they connected you to

The worst thing is that they want full access to our data, messages, everything, we are no longer safe anywhere in this world, it is designed to make things easier for people, but behind it is full access even though we don't want it, I don't know if we can turn it off, why would Gemini have access to everything, that's bad, if people don't rebel against it, that's the end of our privacy

Anonymous, 20 Jul 2026Can’t tell if you’re being sarcastic or…No No I'm being serious. In reality; I don't do friends and even coworkers get on my nerves and get blocked; I don't have tolerance for BS. If anyone is going to "record my voice" or "ask AI to replicate my voice" to access Gemini; the most they'll be texting is my immediate family. In such a case; I see them regularly so I would LITERALLY call them or text them and mention that Gemini sent the messages by mistake

Furthermore if this were a real Issue; anytime a message is sent on someone's behalf by Gemini; it could add the following text to the SMS message: "Sent with Gemini" or "Sent with Google Assistant". so rather than being so freaked out and turning this into such a big deal; Google can either A. suck it up and fix the dang issue or B. Implement a strategy such as the one mentioned above.

Seriously people this is not Socket Rience. I'm sure android users can find someone who made some sort of app that will connect to their SMS such as IFTT to commit such an action if an AI slopbot ever DID send a message on someone's behalf that should not have been sent. You can also delete messages for both parties in Google Messages. Solutions exist. People would rather cry and complain about the issue than find them.

Anonymous, 19 Jul 2026ill record you saying hey siri or have ai replicate your voice, follow what again?Right...But who's going to go through all that trouble? If you're recording someone's voice or using AI to replicate it to tell Siri or Google Assistant or Gemini to send a message on a device that isn't yours; I think there's larger problems than "Siri sent a message to someone accidentally; please disregard it." But once again bottom line is I tell someone It was an accident. The worst they're going to do is block me which tbh; I kind of am trying to push as many people out of my life because shocker; people suck. It's no skin off my back; big whoop.

I'll also add I never set my devices down anywhere outside of my room. It's always in my pocket or on hand. If someone were to do that I'd feel the vibration or hear the start request chime. So....Nice Try; I guess.
