Anonymous, 16 Jul 2026Who sits their phone on the display? If there are anyone like that please dont do that, put it... more100% agree, I use a case with raised lip and tempered glass screen protector and never lay my phone face down. If you worried about folks seeing your screen there's plenty of settings to not show content of messages etc

I remember that Gsmarena wrote in an article:
"Interestingly, leaked renders of the upcoming Pixel 11, Pixel 11 Pro, and Pixel 11 Pro XL do not show any visible rear lighting hardware, making it unclear how Google plans to implement this feature."

And I wrote as a comment: "They do. Every smartphone camera has a "flashlight"."

The video they showed made me think that it was the side of the phone that was lighting up, Which would be much more interesting than this is.

PS Vita, 16 Jul 2026I will get a Pixel again if Google returns using flagship Snapdragon chips. Samsung uses them ... morei think you want a gaming phone, so Pixels, with Snapdragon or without,
                                are not for you anyway.

they are not using Tensor just because of a longer software support.

people want a Snapdragon level of performance in Pixels, because of mostly two reason.

-they really need it on a phone (gamers or a heavy power users)
-they have their principles that says..
"it cost the same as this or that Ultra/Pro, but it's twice the performance, there is no way i'd pay that much for a mid-range level performance"
-their pp is small so they need a phone with big numbers in benchmark (that's a joke lol)

Pixel fans are also mainly divided into 3 groups.

-old Nexus fans (budget oriented high spec phones, nothing to do with the Pixels of today)

-old Pixel fans (1-5 models; era of Snapdragon, but with older gen in contrast to any other phone, only the first Pixel came with actual chipset of that year, Snapdragon 821)

Pixel has never been powerful or good for gaming, even with Snapdragon.
and their efficiency was always luck luster, only good on Pixel 5, probably because they used a Snapdragon series 7, not a hungry power series 8, so they got A+ in battery department for the first time ever, but C for level of performance.

-new Pixel fans (since Pixel 6)

if you ask what Pixel fans, the one that buys Pixel phones of todays,
you'd see that they are not seeking for chipset performance.
                                they want something else.

Pixel fans want efficiency and better battery optimization on Tensor.
that's it. they are fine with everything else. everything still feels smooth.
battery and heat management, modem. these are the things Pixels fans asking for.

if they care that much for chipset performance,
they wouldn't buy the Pixel in first place.

nothing wrong with wanting more for the price.
i completely understand that point of view.
however, i doubt Pixel will ever start using anything else except Tensor.
their market share has start to grow only after Pixel 6 came out.

we can divide new Pixel fans into two groups.

-people who just want almost clean Android with some unique Pixel software and their pretty good, not the best on the market, but still pretty good camera in photo mode.
-people who (ironically) don't want to use Google apps and install GrapheneOS instead.

Pixels have always been a debatable topic.
                                with or without the Snapdragon.

I hope the battery size improved to support the requirement of this notification for the user to use it and not avoiding it due to less battery.

I don't remember exactly which phone (maybe Nokia 4.1 or 4.2) but I remember it having led notification in its power button, which even know I think is the best place for notification led.
