Having subsidiaries doesn't have tax benefits. If a subsidiary have high profits, it will have to pay high taxes. If having subsidiaries makes you pay less taxes, every company will have subsidiaries. It's not the case.

It would possibly help if they trimmed up their product lines and stopped offering low budget, low spec phones. Trim up the operating costs and pass it back to the consumer 😂

How can they post loss because of memory price crisis when they are manufacturing it and making billions... the corporate crap about treating internal products as external with infalted pricing is simply a mean to evade taxes by posting imaginary losses... but to have the odacity to use this excue for asking more of their customers.... I'll hold my tongue.

Well, they can plan on the situation to get worse. Every year Samsung finds a excuse to offer less for more. As for me I'm going with the OPPO N6 and Huawei for the short and wide.

Besides, it's just one quarter, they'll probably turn it around by next quarter.

Look at LG as an example.

They only had 34.76 billions $ profit last year, and I cite google : "In 2026, profit surged to record highs. In a single quarter (April–June 2026), Samsung reported an operating profit of $58.5 billion. This one-quarter profit was larger than the company's total combined earnings over the previous three years." So it makes perfect sense to complain about the rising memory chips prices 🤣. Just another lie from big companies to squeeze even more from people as they need to increase even more the profits. GREED has NO Limits!

My brother got a 2tb nvme yesterday, cheapest one that wasn't qlc is 230 euro and it still lacks dram.
In 2024 I got a 4TB Western Digital SN850X for 250 euro, with DRAM.
It's insane.

Samsung's mobile division is suffering losses while the semiconductor division is having record high profits is peak conglomerate stuff. I find it funny. But it's all good for Samsung. Both Samsung's mobile division and semiconductor division are under the umbrella called Samsung Electronics so they'll ride this out more than fine.
