TimmyKH, 10 Jul 2026yeah that thick and possibly around 300g just to increase few hundreds mAh. if silicon carbon ... moreThe thing people seem to forget is that we tend to add a case (and for an expensive phone like that, a proper one that can also add a bit of weight) and it's an iPhone, so there might even be a Popsocket or some other MagSafe accesoire attached to it. 300 grams seems feasible which is crazy
At least, Apple is trying to innovate yearly even if its just minimal or minor. Samsung on the other hand is the total lazy company here. Though the company that innovates big time are ones under them like Oppo/Vivo, and ZTE.

The half eaten Apple represents a rotten core

Even fold phone lighter than this block
Okay it's CERTAINLY Thicc.
but It's good. I suppose. we all do sports with our phones anyway. 😅
It took Apple years to probably over a decade just to release a phone model with a battery capacity over 5000mag and all that leads to the phone being really heavy and thick
While I'd say that that battery capacity is probably a record breaking capacity for Iphones(I could be wrong here, maybe the iPhone Ultra will have a bigger battery capacity than this?)it is still really far away from all those rugged phones and the Chinese phones with 6000-10000+ released in the past 2 years now
But obviously the Iphones don't need that much battery capacity since their OS is already very optimized or something I don't know,I'm not an Apple user
By the way though, what's the battery SOTs that yall are getting with your Iphones?
I'm kinda curious about their battery life since i think they're kinda getting mixed reviews or something cuz some people said that they last really long and some people said that their Iphones have a short battery life just because of the "small" battery capacity
I hope they return the stainless steel frame version . The aluminium and plastic frame shows how much Apple has gone down regarding quality and durability ,the last true durable iPhone was the 14 ProMax
Anton th3 papy, 10 Jul 2026Fair enough, but the battery isn't the only component inside the casing. Look at the &quo... moreWell found your ultra phone under 200 grams.

And by the way rumored weight of this beauty going to be 185 up to 200 grams also come with magnets and a flagship specs.

Cpt.Power, 10 Jul 2026Yes sure everybody will camp month before unveiling for a phone with 60hz screen laughable dat... moreA 240g+ brick that's 9mm+ thick is also laughably outdated just like your obsession with spec-sheet marketing.
And btw, compared to iPhones, nobody cares about your Chinese iOS copycats regardless of how many 'ultra-premium' parts they cram into them 🤣
Given it's not any significant chemistry change that's not a bad battery increase, it won't set any records but it'll probably be a reasonable upgrade given these are about as optimised as phones get.
Anton th3 papy, 10 Jul 2026Fair enough, but the battery isn't the only component inside the casing. Look at the &quo... moreI'll be honest, I have no idea why Apple even bothers with the magnets in the phone itself. Yes I realise it makes wireless charging better and has more options for accessories and whatever but... so does putting them in the case that everyone is putting on their phone anyway. It just makes it more expensive in materials for the sake of literally 6 people total.
Cpt.Power, 10 Jul 2026Still the Honor X9D had 8300 mAh cell and only 193 grams. THere are plenty of 8000+ mAh phon... moreFair enough, but the battery isn't the only component inside the casing. Look at the "Ultra" models; not a single one weighs less than 200 grams. And if you add magnets, it gets even heavier. I can see why not everyone takes the risk of including magnets—Samsung included—but Apple doesn't seem to mind the iPhone gaining a bit of weight to accommodate them.
Perfect! Thin phones are pointless. Function over looks.
Bl457Xor, 10 Jul 2026Are you a girl?Pff-- we putting gender into something like this? Nobody gives a damn about genders?? This is a tech forum, buddy. If someone is easy to complain or much rather is just NOT comfortable with the heaviness of a phone — that's their opinion. Maybe they have some weakness in their hand because of their own reasons.
And according to most 'girls' I asked, they don't mind the weight of a phone. They don't mind the thickness either.
I hope they return the stainless steel frame version . The aluminium and plastic frame shows how much Apple has gone down regarding quality and durability ,the last true durable iPhone was the 14 ProMax
240g and 9mm thick? May be because of that stupid, useless camera bump. Is it really THAT necessary so a larger battery can finally be put in after decades? Aside from that — people who have worn cases on their phones probably won't give a damn about the weight and thickness since they're probably already used to it imo. I'd rather have a heavier and thicker phone as a con, but for the pro of a larger battery capacity. This is coming from a person who uses their phone constantly for different reasons (ranging from light to heavy activities on hours on end), will still put on a case regardless, ect. People care about phone thickness? It's probably just a preference I might just not understand, but I know it has something to do with comfort when holding in the hands.
Ignoring what I said; everyone has their own preferences. There's no need to flame anybody just because they like something you don't like, and vice versa.

Anton th3 papy, 09 Jul 2026A bigger battery than the Galaxy S26 Ultra—in an iPhone? Samsung, you're slacking...Still the Honor X9D had 8300 mAh cell and only 193 grams.
THere are plenty of 8000+ mAh phones with weight less than 200.
But in the end its up to Apple how they wish to disrespect their customers.
