macos is hard to use, it is an unfriendly system meant to take more from you, your money, than it gives to you, a practical tool to make your money.
Anonymous, 12 Jul 2026MOST of the sales are due to the affordable Macbook Neo, people don't want to spend $2000... moreIn Q2 of 2025 per the numbers listed. Apple sold 6.1M Macs of all types, but it’s well known that MacBook sales are over 80-85% of all Mac sales.
Now Apple made $8.05 billion in Mac revenue in that quarter, divide that by 6.1M Mac’s and the average sales price of a Mac sale was $1319 per sale. >85% of those sales were MacBooks so $1300 is a pretty representative price for a MacBook, some much higher, some lower.
Now in Q2 2026, Apple sold 6.7M Macs, 10% higher. Again, >85% of those sales were MacBooks, including lower cost Mac Neo’s, so they remain immensely popular and now spread across a much lower price tier.
It was already reported Mac Neo production was constrained by limited supplies of the A18 Pro chip so there’s some pent up demand that will slide into Q3 July quarter. Despite that, Mac sales did increase AND there will also be pull forward demand for those who want to buy before the major price increases took effect, offsetting the number of sales, plus lower cost & revenue of the Mac Neo.
Even if Apple were to have sold 1M to 2M Neo’s after it became available March 11, 2026, that’s still only 15 to 30% of Mac sales, meaning rest of MacBooks and Macs still sold 70-85% of total, so while the Neo will prove very popular, it’s not “most” (meaning >50%) by any stretch. I fully expect Mac ASP’s to remain close to the $1300 mark, meaning revenues should clear $8.70 Billion when earnings are released at end of July, I’ll update this post with the results.
I know you’re not talking about really precise numbers, but even broadly generalizing, the Mac Neo will form a new product niche, adding to Mac sales and revenues, and cannibalizing little of current Mac sales, the Neo will cannibalize Chromebook and lower end Windows laptop sales, especially in the educational market.
MOST of the sales are due to the affordable Macbook Neo, people don't want to spend $2000 on a useless Macbook

Why? Ideologies suck, you want freedom? Take it back by force.

Anonymous, 09 Jul 2026Never buy cheap windows laptops. Windows 11 is heavy os.This.
Windows 11 is not just an heavy OS most "gaming" and "Snapdragon X" Laptops and PCs can't handle, it's infested with A.I. bloatware that is Copilot. Basically "Crysis" level heavy but unlike "Crysis", its unusable and worse, spyware.
Microslop is letting the 'Soft' out from the window and blatantly being hypocritical they wont/ never release a 'Lite' version of W11 for the mass market.
So, Linux and SteamOS took over.
Let's call it the "memory cartel effect".
Absolutely pointless numbers, as Apple was mostly able to avoid the memory crysis unlike PC manufacturers. Of course their numbers will be higher in comparison
”Apple's success in this market has a lot to do with the fact that it only raised prices at the end of June (which is also the end of Q2). How its price hike has impacted demand for Macs will become clear in the numbers for Q3."
Point to be noted.

Feem, 09 Jul 2026Mac may always be a minority in a way.Well, they shipped 1.7 million more computers than ASUS did. But they rank 4th out of the top five, and are way off from even coming close to even the number 2 spot.
