They're riding off of their popularity around the globe which lets them change a whole lot of nothing every year. Brands like Xiaomi or Oppo aren't as popular as Samsung flagship-wise, so they give you a lot of crazy specs to make up for it and please the more tech savvy people. If they were doing everything that Samsung does hardware-wise, they'd be really niche or even dead since there wouldn't be any reasons to get them over a reliable Samsung. Same thing goes for Apple pretty much.

I will look back at Samsung when they do make an effort. 1/1.12" or less sensors for the main camera, 1/1.5" or less for the telephotos and a proper 6500+ battery. For the price they ask it's just stupid to invest in them.
