Contrary to what most ... moreIt's funny, sometimes I see Chinese colleagues buys the Huawei phone from China few years back, after a week all have their old phone back. Some of them hold 2x phones. Why? Honestly, tech knowledge is the minority audience. Smaller phones, qwerty keyboard, head-phone jack all eventually phase away for a reason.
Even for people with tech knowledge, there is a time to stop and want something just works instead of fiddling around. I come from, rooting/magisk/microG, custom roms. Being there done that. No more.
Unless it hold a significantly value proposition, which that no longer the case with many phone vendor, Huawei being one. It will never gain significant market share. History of OnePlus is the best example.

Not surprising to see Malaysia as the first country for Global release. Contrary to what most people think about needing Google services, most Malaysians can actually live without it as long as their required apps are available in AppGallery, which keeps on growing bigger. In fact, some dealers can help to install Google services without any charge, which also helps a lot.
