As usual Apple decide to NOT listen to its users AGAIN and do a foldable their way. Of course you will have the Apple fan boys and fan girls swoon over it and buy it just because it’s Apple, but here’s the thing I don’t know anyone who wants a foldable mini iPad. As for myself no way. I want an iPhone 17 with a battery that lasts more than 12 hours and I want it to fold in half. I currently have a Motorola razor and love it. I know many who are in the same boat.
I waited 5 years for the iPhone Fold, or Ultra as some call it, and honestly I'm not impressed. Apple kept delaying it while everyone else moved forward. I have the Vivo X300 Ultra and this phone leads Apple and Samsung in photography and video right now, according to multiple 2026 reviews. Apple will have to come correct if they still want the crown in video production, or that title goes to Vivo. I may still get the iPhone Fold for shytz and giggles though.
My niece after using 4 iterations of Z fold until Fold 7 where he keep breaking the screen and move to the next iteration since screen replacement itself costing $600 besides paying insurance, extended warranty etc…Now fed up with mobile phone expenses he is using feature phone with buttons! These foldables are going to be an expensive maintenance mightmare and it won’t be cheaper either. You can’t put cases without adding bulky form factor to it! Screen protectors literally useless.
