Just me, 02 Jul 2026It is the case for everything that is 18:9 or narrower (like 16:9). Which is the case for 99.9... morepartially yes but not exactly. the screen aspect ratio 22:9, 18:9, 16:9, 3:2, 4:3 defines the size of black bars when you are watching video content. youtube videos and tv series are usually 16:9. movies are usually 2.35:1. so, every screen will show black bars on top and bottom of a movie. no matter what aspect ratio your screen has, the real size of the content you see is defined by the horizontal dimension of the screen. we will see fold8 has a bigger screen than s26ultra side by side however, play a movie and you will see s26ultra will show it bigger. so, fold8 would make more sense it would be something like 168x129(same aspect ratio) mm instead of 161x124 mm.

Is useful for multitasking and easy handling of the device.
But nah, people want wider because of 16:9 videos.

fold8: 161x124 mm,
fold8u: 158x141 mm,
s26u: 164x78 mm

Who in their right minds would pick this up over normal folds? Apple inspired people and wannabes? Nobody wants to wear baggy / hip-hop pants just to be able to carry this around in their pockets. What are these manufacturers even smoking?? Normal pockets can only hold so much without feeling uncomfortable.
