David, 26 Jun 2026Oh the irony that Apple had been ripping off people for years with ridiculous storage upgrade ... moreYeah, because raising the prices due to RAM shortages, which, by the way, they also contribute to by pushing AI garbage with every single update, really makes sense...

Leaving that aside, the fact that people still support these companies, the same companies that helped drive up RAM prices because of their data centers and AI, and then turn around and sell consumers overpriced hardware because of their own actions, makes it seem like these corporations see people as a joke while laughing over it drinking beers on Epstein Island. It's tragic, humanity these days. By the way, hardware should get cheaper and cheaper over the years, not the other way arround.

If you're a supplier, will you sell a component at a fixed price for 3 years knowing that the component price can change anytime and you may be bankrupt if you do so?

JohnnyD, 26 Jun 2026Ridiculous cash grab... Apple has long term contracts for the supply of memories and ssds. So ... moreThere are no such things as long term contracts for fixed component prices. Let's say if Apple will buy RAM for $300 for 10 years, and tomorrow the market price drops to $100, Apple will have to pay $300 for a $100 component for 10 years. No company is that stupid.

TheDarkForesttt, 26 Jun 2026Think this was pretty much inevitable, for a long while (I’d argue) Apple have had some very w... moreVery much so. The sad part is many consumers are buying into the very same technologies that are locking them out.

Look at how much Nvidia is trying to kill PCs by pushing AI & data centres as their main business & lumping gaming with other insignificant "end-user" programs, which clearly shows that they are moving towards a centralised AI business where customers just have terminals to access the AI & nothing more. The worst part is that you are paying for AI terminals that leech off your power & add to your bills but you don't own them & have to pay a subscription just to use the terminal that's already above your house.

Ridiculous cash grab... Apple has long term contracts for the supply of memories and ssds. So they haven't been affected one bit by the ram apocalypse... They are going to increase their profits again.
Also since when is 300$ the same as 500€ (Look at the Macbook Pro 14)? Why are we Europeans robbed blind by these guys?
I have an iPad air M3, and am not buying anything from them again. The experience has been awful. And they have the worst warranty of any brand I have seen.

I think, now Apple is thinking about other companies.

Apple has hiked price so obviously and sigificantly that people now think about look for new phones and tablets in other spaces.

Even Samsung is so expensive for tablet and laptop market. If people is not concerned about S pen and they also can easily move away from Samsung. Most of the android tablets are cheaper than cheapest Tab S10 lite and almost half price of Tab S11.

So let other people earns and innovate.
