Anonymous, 18 Jun 2026Buddy, you're assuming the average consumer would even know what a kryo or oryon is lol let me speak, mortal.

(fr tho, even tho everyone on this website including me is a computing brick obsessed dork, i get that the average person would probably not care about this slight detail of false advertising.)

Thermals on these units cannot be dissipated, it can only be transferred. Wonder if these eyewears can boil an egg too

8 gen 3 is ~60% faster than 8g2 in 3dmark steel nomad light. But thats by using 3 more watts of power. 6 vs 9w. Too hot for this thing. Maybe a new 8 series gpu like the one in 8g5 which is 60% faster without any additional power.

Reality Elite? With Kryo Cores? Huh.

Strange, Even tho your nicher Cockpit/Ride Elite SoCs (Automotive SoCs) HAVE ORYON CORES. This and the Wear Elite definitely are somewhat misleading, I mean, I would excuse it for the Wear Elite since it's a Wearable SoC that needs to be underpowered so it doesn't cause 3rd degree burns when it overheats, and Oryon seems like it's too overpowered for something like that... This is an XR SoC. They could add a "Snapdragon Reality Lite" SoC that fits smartglasses more than XR Headsets with this typa configuration, and also make an SoC with a different config but the same name that uses quad/hexa-core 1+3/2+4 less than 3.25GHz Underclocked Oryon CPUs

Had MetaQuest 3 used it probbably 5 times and sold it. Problem wasnt with VR but my eyesight got some issues from using VR also my brain cuy i am sensitive to some of its aspects which i did not know before.

In other words just like with everything else even a VR is for a smaller market compared to Phones or PC.

"elite" but uses kryo cores, why didn't they call the 8s gen 4 the 8s elite since we're now using this logic.

Anonymous, 17 Jun 202660% higher CPU performance? If only they could do the same % boost for phones too 😈🔥60% is GPU, CPU is 30%. Also, this is because unlike phones SoCs, the XR line only get's updated once every 2-3 years. For example, the current XR2+ Gen 2 is based on Snapdragon 8Gen 2. This one you would think is based on the 8 Elite based on the performance uplift.
