DarlingYext, 22 Jun 2026"The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 outperforms the Honor V6 mainly in software longevity, ecosy... moreOk first of all I think we're at a misunderstanding. I wasn't comparing the Fold 7 to the V6 or V5 globally. I was mentioning the availability of the V6 to someone in America like me; yk since that's where I am and that's where I'd be comparing the features of both phones. It's not available in the US market so replying to anyone who lives in the US makes your argument invalid which WOULD apply to me; the person you're replying to.

Ive used the batteries on the Folds they last perfectly fine and if you're using a phone THAT much more then buy a portable battery Pack. My folds last about 2 days with normal daily usage if not slightly more.

As for the warranty; if you're buying used Ebay has protection plans such as Allstate and MOST sellers allow for returns if you're dissatisfied with your product so there's really not much of a difference there it just matters who you buy your devices from; I never return my tech but its nice to know there's a return policy OR insurance on the devices I do purchase in case something DOES go wrong.

In regards to updates Yes the amount of support years are consistent with each other So I'll give you that one. As for the issue regarding the Stylus I'm not sure why that's such a big deal you'll want a professional drawing tablet if you're going to be doing anything of that scale anyways; An Spen is for sketches and Note Taking. Yes it can be used for drawing and has some features when it comes to pressure sensitivity but for someone who HAS ACTUALLY USED BOTH THE SPEN AND THE FOLD it really doesn't even compare to my Ipad 9th Gen and Apple Pencil or either of the generations after both devices. Much larger display and a much more pencil-like design that fits in the hand better for drawing. Lots of features would be awesome on the Fold 7 that it doesn't have. If you're basing your decision to purchase it off of that alone A Foldable isn't for you to begin with.

The Camera is FINE on the Fold 7 even if the V5 or V6 are better at taking pictures in fact I KNOW there's a camera quality comparison feature on GSMArena that allows you to compare camera quality between two phones (Which unfortunately doesn't have the Fold 7 OR the V5 or V6 honors but with passing time hopefully that will change) But as nobody has complained about Camera quality especially in relationship to an Honor V6 (And I mean globally; not US only); I'm sure Galaxy Fold Users will get over the problem they never knew they had.

Faster Wired and Wireless charging can destroy a batter faster if not properly brought up. That's not really valid argument with powerbanks existing; I never need to charge my phone THAT fast anyways and I have wireless powershare on my other galaxy devices to charge my dead device if need be. And oh yeah also if my Fold's battery is failing that MISERABLY ill but a powerbank or take it to Geek Squad. Which even used has never been something I've had to do so I think most Fold users are OK especially buying new. Charging Cycles DO matter; A phone with a larger battery that has less charging cycles may last longer per charge but depending on how heavily you use it; it may decline in battery health much quicker whereas a battery that can withstand more charging cycles may pull through with smart usage of its battery. Now I'm no scientist but 800 more charging cycles in the lifespan of a device is quite a large number I'll take a longer overall battery life over longer power length with each charge. But that's just me some people find the longer lasting charge more beneficial so I understand why the V6 has the battery it has.

And as for the drop tests....The numbers speak for themselves. In comparison to the V5 210 falls vs 70.....is quite sad. Hopefully the V6 is higher. True it matters how you drop them but such a gap between the two is quite concerning; no? To be fair though people should have cases on their phones and that could boost fall numbers for the V6 although in my experience finding GOOD cases for Foldables isn't exactly a walk in the park they're either VERY flimsy and cheap or SUPER expensive and overkill.

As I said the Honor Folds are nice devices but you have to admit not being available to the US is a large (but most likely not the largest) chunk of missed sales and furthermore when talking to someone who is from the US and would be buying and testing a foldable in the US; the argument falls apart there; obviously you're really limited to the Fold 7 from a reliable reputable source at a reasonable price save for a completely different foldable brand. Internationally the V6 makes a great name for itself but the Fold 7 is still desirable; some people are accustomed to and prefer the Samsung Ecosystem and UI above all else; and Samsung has some cool software and features exclusive to their devices (Such as Samsung Dex) I never said the V6 is no good I just said overall I feel more people on average especially in the US would choose the Fold 7 over the V6. How it got to this is beyond me.

ScrappyGaymer, 22 Jun 2026Actually comparing used phones with no bad history on them is something that can be done. That... more"The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 outperforms the Honor V6 mainly in software longevity, ecosystem maturity, and main camera megapixel resolution."

That's what you can come up with from a random website? Most of what you found is misinformation anyways. The Z Fold7 will get 7 years of OS updates, just like the Magic V5 and Magic V6. Yes, the camera megapixel count is higher on the Galaxy, anyone with eyes can see that, unfortunately that doesn't make the results better, so it's completely irrelevant. As for ecosystems maturity, whether you would like to use a stylus for your foldables is besides the point, these are optional accessories, and for the lates Z Fold7 you can't purchase a stylus as good as the one you can buy for both the Magic V5 from last year and the current V6.

"Furthermore I JUST went to Honor's website and they asked me to select a region and what do you know the US does NOT come up meaning then and there if we're comparing the official Samsung Website to the Official honor website Honor's already out."

I'm sorry to tell you, but there is actually a world outside of the US.

"Actually comparing used phones with no bad history on them is something that can be done."

No it doesn't make any sense, with a used phone you get limited or no warranty at all.

"Furthermore bigger battery doesn't mean better battery life."

Doesn't necessarily mean better battery life, but in the case of Magic V5 and the V6 it does translate to significantly better battery life.

"The Galaxy Fold 7 compares to the Honor V5 NOT the V6."

Sure, and I did compare those in my last comment as well, but you seem to have ignored that, as the V5 is also a better device than the Fold7. Better cameras, larger battery with faster wired and wireless charging, plus optional stylus support that the Fold7 doesn't have.

EU rating for the Z Fold7:
    Class B
    Battery 40:28h endurance, 2000 cycles
Free fall Class A (210 falls)
    Repairability Class C

Anyways, we clearly don't have much to talk about since you can't see past the charging cycles of a given phone, even though 2000 cycles on a miniscule battery is still clearly worse than 1000-1200 cycles on a large battery. Will be funny when the Z Fold8 duo gets downgraded to 1200 cycles with a similarly small battery, just like what happened with the S26 series compared to the S25 series, looking forward to how you will defend that.

DarlingYext, 21 Jun 2026"Perhaps Samsung is being lazy by removing the digitizer but once again it was one of tho... moreActually comparing used phones with no bad history on them is something that can be done. That's why the Samsung members app has a full testing feature to test every single sensor the phone has; that's how I figured out the Flex sensor on my Flip 3 was broken. IF we're going to be comparing phones incorrectly when the Fold 7 dropped LAST YEAR and the V6 dropped THIS YEAR with the Fold 8 dropping in ABOUT A MONTH then why don't we just throw in the Galaxy Tri-Fold? That seems fair no?

Furthermore I JUST went to Honor's website and they asked me to select a region and what do you know the US does NOT come up meaning then and there if we're comparing the official Samsung Website to the Official honor website Honor's already out. And I'm going to say right now NO carriers that carries Galaxy Fold 7s like Boost Verizon AT&T or TMobile are selling Honor V6s and either way if you chose a monthly plan it would be like $50-150/mo anyways for both devices. However when honor's website has no option for US sale that kind of makes this whole argument fall heavily apart. Yes you can buy them elsewhere but once again they're going to be used and even "new" from a third party seller that's especially not a mainstream carrier you don't know what was done to them before they were put on the market to sell ESPECIALLY looking at the sites I just did for them. All the sites selling them for $1700 are sites I've never heard of on a quick Google shopping search meanwhile you can get Samsung's Fold 7 For as low as $999 WITH A GALAXY FOLD 6 TRADE (Less value for other model trade-ins BUT STILL MONEY OFF) Something I KNOW Honor ain't doing that in the US and even overseas its probably not as good of a deal for a previous gen model. Let's add on that you could go on a monthly plan both on Samsung's Website AND with a carrier which would be cheaper if you only had the phone for a year or so because you wouldn't have completely paid it off by then BUT you could still use it while you have it and return it when you switch or trade it in for a better device. Its funny how this entire thing is looking stinkier and stinkier for acquiring an Honor V6 ESPECIALLY in the US.

In regards to specs the Galaxy ISN'T MISSING ANY ESSENTIAL FEATURES! SPen support doesn't make or break the Galaxy Experience. It is nice Yes but once again I don't even use the SPens I bought for the 3 foldables I bought that DO have digitizers on them. I think I mentioned that the Honor V6 does do a lot of things really well HOWEVER thanks to a quick search and results from bandicootlab.com; "The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 outperforms the Honor V6 mainly in software longevity, ecosystem maturity, and main camera megapixel resolution. Samsung offers an unmatched 7 years of Android OS upgrades and boasts stronger, industry-standard durability" other quick bullet points include: "PC-like Multitasking & Ecosystem: Samsung's OneUI 8 is highly optimized for foldables, offering seamless drag-and-drop functionality, the ability to act as a portable PC (using Samsung DeX), and better integration with Samsung smartwatches and tablets." coming DIRECTLY FROM GSMARENA THEMSELVES; and " Brighter Displays in Standard Settings: While Honor pushes peak brightness for HDR highlights, Samsung’s manual display brightness is highly consistent and easier to see in direct sunlight." back from Bandicootlab.com. Nothing that instantly stands out about the Fold 7 seems better than the V6 I do admit but each phone has its little secret(s) and with them being released in the same era of tech that does mean the Fold 7 hides some cool features the V6 doesn't have.

Once again you cant really say much if you've never used either of the devices. I cant say the V6 is any good or bad but what I do know is the Galaxy Foldables are more than id ever need and work perfectly fine especially the Fold 6 in 2026. Fold 7 would be cool but its not necessary at this time for me personally and the 6 already gives an awesome experience. Maybe find a phone company that actually sells phones from reputable vendors IN THE US and then you'll have an argument. But as of now with Honor or any official reputable vendors not selling the V6 in the US new there's nothing to go on for an Honor US market for the V6 at the VERY least. Furthermore bigger battery doesn't mean better battery life. It all has to do with how much power apps take up and how the system optimizes the device to get the longest battery life out of a single charge. This is why I'm saying comparing Galaxy Fold 8's tech (2026) with Honor V6's tech (also 2026) is the proper way to compare the two lines. Comparing the Honor V5 The days of release are exactly a week apart. The Galaxy Fold 7 compares to the Honor V5 NOT the V6. Furthermore both run the same chipset so that's only more proof they're in the same comparative bracket with each other over the Fold 7 and the V6. Honor V6 has a pretty good camera and about the same screen size as the Fold 7 but higher screen resolution however a worse brightness and a 9hr battery endurance difference however the Fold 7 got 2000 cycles the V5 only got 1200. OH and the rating for the Fold 7 is a Class A compared to a class C! I wonder why! Must be the changes Samsung made by removing the digitizer and adding a thicker ultrathin glass on the Fold 7!! It only got 70 falls to hit class C while the Fold 7 took over 205 falls and hit Class A. My work here is done do with this information what you will but in the end No US selling or support for the V6 doesn't give it a very strong argument despite whatever better features the V5 OR the V6 may have.

Like what aspects did they focus on? The Z Fold7 beats the Magic V6 in absolutely nothing. Sure, Samsung focused on thinness, but so did Honor without losing any features, they both focused on cameras, but Honor managed to put a better setup in the V6, and even their software support is the same, the V6 isn't missing anything, while the Fold7 is missing quite a lot of hardware features. Sure the Fold7 isn't a bad phone, of course it isn't, but you don't have to pay more to get something better. Anyways comparing used phones to brand new phones, and phones that come from who knows where to ones that come from official stores doesn't make any sense whatsoever.

Once again, it DOESN'T MATTER when either of these specific phones came out, I'm not talking about the iPhone 17 Pro, or the S25, or any Xiaomi, but the Magic V6 and the Z Fold7. It doesn't matter, because they both had a hardware feature, which is the digitizer in their previous generations, and only one of them lost it while becoming as thin as the other phone is that didn't lose said hardware feature. Oh, well then let's compare the Magic V5 to the Z Fold7, because that phone is again just as thin and light, has a better camera setup, a much larger battery with faster wired and wireless charging and has stylus support.

DarlingYext, 20 Jun 2026Actually, it doesn't matter when either of these phones came, and I will tell you exactly... morePerhaps Samsung is being lazy by removing the digitizer but once again it was one of those things where Samsung focused on other aspects to improve over the V6 while losing features the V6 has. And yes it does matter when those phones came out you can't compare a IPhone 17 to an S25 that's not how fair comparison across the same release bracket is supposed to go. I never said Honor is new I've seen them around for a hot minute but in terms of the US and average consumerism yes they absolutely are unheard of especially when you add the fact Samsung and Apple make up most of the US Marketshare

And in terms of a decent foldable experience yes compared to the Galaxy Fold 7 the Moto Fold isnt something I'd drop my money on especially if I can find a $1299 Fold 7 over a $1899 Moto Fold. That's the advantage of the Fold 7 being out for a little while you can find sellers selling a new or open box model for a few hundred cheaper heck I know one seller on eBay selling Fold 7s for under $600.

As for the camera thing Honor may have good Camera hardware and software processing but Samsungs is completely fine I've never really hear any average user complaining about camera quality on any of the phones in the past 3 years. I know my cameras are way more than I'll ever need. I also must ask have you ever even used a foldable? People can only draw so much speculation and conclusion from specs without actually using the device itself. I havent used a V6 but as an owner of 3 Galaxy foldables I can tell you the SPen support is not all its cracked up to be (I cannot find a S Pen Pro anywhere anyways; the regular SPen Fold Editions only do so much) The cameras are amazing (especially what I paid for them) and it's a very usable device that is easy to find and purchase as well as setup and use. Samsung isn't missing any features that direly impact the device and it's nice the V6 has so many features but they're not necessary and I easily get 2+ days of battery on my foldables. Which honestly Is very surprising as I bought them used.

ScrappyGaymer, 20 Jun 2026Actually it DOES matter when the Fold 7 came out in relation to the V6; Comparing by release d... moreActually, it doesn't matter when either of these phones came, and I will tell you exactly why. Honor didn't have pen support with the first Magic V, but they started offering it with the Vs, whereas Samsung started with their Fold3. Both companies have released multiple devices in the same series ever since, and while Honor continued to improve the capabilities of their stylus, Samsung simply couldn't be bothered with it and just removed the digitizer entirely. That's just lazy, and their reasoning behind it is nothing, but an excuse. The V6 and the previous models except for the first V all have a digitizer btw.

"The price of the phone compared to the processor you're getting for the phone is crap though. Not to mention yes the MP count isn't everything however as I said even if the hardware capturing on the V6 is good that's nothing without software processing as well."

Sure, but we do know that Honor's software processing is good, and the pictures that the V6 takes are better than what the Z Fold7 can take. Honor isn't a new brand, they are also not new to foldables, there is no reason to treat them like they are new, or unknown. As for the Razr Fold having a bad chipset according to you, all I can say is good luck spotting the difference between the 8 Gen 5 and the 8 Elite Gen 5 in regular daily usage. The Elite variant definitely runs hotter and throttles, and the little performance difference it might still have you are only going to feel if you are a heavy gamer, in which case recent RedMagic phones are much better value than any foldable.

DarlingYext, 19 Jun 2026It doesn't matter when the Fold7 and the Magic V6 came out, Samsung used to offer pen sup... moreActually it DOES matter when the Fold 7 came out in relation to the V6; Comparing by release date is exactly how mobile devices are compared. At the point the Galaxy Fold 7 was released (This is going to be cited from a few sources) the given reason the Galaxy Fold 7 does not have Spen support is because "Samsung had to get rid of the digitizer layer within the display assembly in its quest for a thinner foldable." (Android Authority). "Samsung cites two main reasons. Firstly, the form factor itself. The Galaxy Z Fold 7 is drastically thinner at 8.9mm (folded) compared to prior generations, and the digitizer needed for S Pen support adds thickness. Beyond that, removing that digitizer left room for thicker ultra-thin glass, improving the durability. Samsung also said that the S Pen hasn’t been used all that much on prior generations, so the impact is also likely minimal." (9to5google). Which I agree with. Styluses on phones are not that big of a selling point and dont get used enough for them to try to figure out how to keep it on the Fold 7 while keeping the thinness. They were focused on strengthening a good durable design at the thickness the Galaxy Fold 7 has today over Stylus support that really wasn't hitting users enough to need to keep. As I said Switch Users get that and would just buy a capacitive stylus that emulates finger taps and still functions on BOTH displays at a cheaper price. I dont even use the 3 SPens I bought very often on my Foldables but I bought them because they were cool to have. As for the camera to be completely fair at this point cameras were fine years ago all this extra stuff they have nowadays is unneccesary and just extra junk. Aint nobody using 8k as an average consumer (Still a super cool and advanced feature to have though) and tbh I think 4k60 is really all that's necessary but for the right price (Not what they're charging for new phones today). And whats more Software Processing does matter if the V6 has good hardware capturing but horrible software processing for their photos it does no good for their hardware does it? Both Cameras across both models are fine but I dont think the specs either of them are boasting camera-wise are so significantly different; and if they are; again this would be comparing to the Fold 8 not the Fold 7.

Circling back to the Stylus not a ton is known about the V6 but it may not even had a digitizer either. The V6 Stylus doesn't look electronic and a non electronic Stylus does work on displays without a digitizer. Maybe it does have one and Honor chose to put in the time to focus on that and the thickness for their users; but once again we have to see what happens with the release of the Galaxy Fold 8. Its not the end of the world a device doesn't have stylus support and to be honest where stylus support was dropped Samsung probably exceeded in other places compared to Honor. Honor also isnt a US product so once again either way most Americans are going to be buying Galaxy Folds over Honor V6s regardless.

Lastly The Razr fold was determined to have a stinky Chipset for the $1899 they're charging for it. Once again Moto focused on Camera but at the cost of worse performance. These phones all are going to have better features than each other at the cost of other features the other foldables do better over them. Camera on phones IS a selling point but not the determining factor completely on a lot of devices as most are about the same with each other no matter what you purchase from the flagship options. Moto Fold also dropped this year so that competes with the V6 and Fold 8.

I understand the V6 is a nice phone; but at the end of the day the lack of its US presence kind of cancels out the practicality of it being bought and used mainstream over a Galaxy Fold 7 or 8. Im actually going to wait until 8 specs drop before comparing the two foldables because yes compared to the 7 for the most part the V6 is the better pick if you can find it at the relatively same price without tariff pricing or conversion fees. But its meant to be compared to the Moto Fold and Fold 8; not the Fold 7. I leave my answer at that.

DarlingYext, 19 Jun 2026It doesn't matter when the Fold7 and the Magic V6 came out, Samsung used to offer pen sup... moreThe price of the phone compared to the processor you're getting for the phone is crap though. Not to mention yes the MP count isn't everything however as I said even if the hardware capturing on the V6 is good that's nothing without software processing as well. If the V6 has good hardware capturing but crappy software processing it's not going to be very helpful is it? Besides Phone cameras today have been turned into this contest when they were perfectly fine years ago the crap they're slapping into phones today is just unnecessary camera spec wise. If you want something seriously good you get a camera made for it.

Also the year does matter as the 8 is dropping here and I don't even think specs are on GSMArena yet. The 2026 V6 competes with the 2026 Fold 8 that's how these things typically work. I will admit the stylus support on the V6 is cool but as I said some third party company somewhere makes a compatible stylus for Fold 7. Samsung cut Bluetooth on their SPend a while back so you're not going to find a Bluetooth either way; you really aren't gaining a whole ton by getting a "capacitive Stylus". Once again someone like a Switch user understands that. There's plenty of other handhelds that make their own accessories and support more within their own company than Switch but nonetheless you're probably paying far less finding 3rd Party pro controllers or joycons or Hori accessories than if Nintendo actually made them and sold them.

9to5google states the reason SPen support got dropped on the Fold 7 is because "the thin form factor of the Galaxy Z Fold 7 demanded that the needed hardware for an S Pen was removed. And, beyond that, the removal allowed Samsung to strengthen the ultra-thin glass used for the folding display." Meaning a year ago most likely nobody has the method of making such a foldable that could support an SPen or Samsung was still working on something. "The situation is similar to that on the Galaxy Z Fold SE, which also got rid of the digitizer layer and dropped S Pen support in lieu of a thinner profile. The digitizer layer is needed to detect and transmit the stylus’s position to the device." Says Android Authority. This makes me question if the V6 has a digitizer or if only generic or non electronic styluses will function on it. Knowing the specifics matters; and not enough is disclosed about how the stylus system on the V6 actually functions. I know Honor makes styluses for their V6 but past that it doesn't look electronic like the Foldables SPens were however I'm not positive.

Yeah the Fold7 has a 200MP main camera, amazing and meaningless big number, megapixels aren't everything when it comes to photography and on a tiny sensor that amount of megapixel count only make sense on a telephoto camera.

The Razr Fold also exists, yes it's thicker and heavier but that has an actual flagship camera setup, significantly ahead of the Fold7.

Every foldable I'm looking at has been around the $1400 mark some going to $1899 like to moto fold. You do realize in terms of foldables Samsung is #1 in the US? Not all Chinese foldables can even be sold in the US; I think you need to do some research before making invalid claims about other foldables. Believe me if they were SO good they'd be more seen around the world and especially the ones that can be sold in the US would appear more often but ALL I've seen are Galaxy Folds when it comes to those. As I said I got 3 Galaxy Foldables for under $800 all the other foldables being sold such as the OnePlus Opens even used they wanted $4-600 a piece and were in worse condition then the Galaxy foldables being sold used. New most foldables are over $1400. A lot of used Galaxy Folds can be found an eBay by the right seller for as low as $150 I got one for a mere $200.

Not to mention if you need a stylus that badly a cheap 3rd party one will solve the problem. This is the exact same type of issues Switch users face but then third party companies such as Hori solve those issues. It's not ideal or practical but it can be cheaper and work just as well. As for cameras as far as foldables go the Samsung has a 200MP the best on the main for the V6 is 50 so not sure where that information was pulled from. The telephoto and Ultrawide are the only ones that are "better" but software processing matters too. V6 is stuck at 30fps for its selfie camera in 4k and I assume the Fold 8 will have a larger battery as well. Depending on what parts are used on the Samsung they may cost more than parts on the V6 and Samsung wants their folds to be affordable (as possible I guess) so while yes there's cutbacks on parts of the Fold 7 there's also things it does better over the V6. I guess if you don't like the Fold 7 you can get a V6 instead which atp will compete with the Fold 8 NOT the Fold 7 because of its release year.

So, no Samsung didn't have to cut stylus support, but they knew that if they cut it, people would justify it with the phone being thin.

They already Cut Bluetooth SPens in the ultras a few years ago and I have 3 of the foldable SPens I don't honestly use them that often it's not a necessity. The camera on the N6 wasn't impressive only 4k 30fps in areas like the selfie camera. There were a lot of other cool features however like the self healing display; and yes I understand leaks and specs are most likely set in stone for the actual 8 Series release however Samsung can surprise contrary to popular belief and being 99% sure isn't 100% certain. Oppo probably took so much time to perfect their N6 but they don't have the experience Samsung has with their foldables. As I mentioned before Samsung is the company to have a decent base and add features that still need lots of time to master but still function and work. Find N6 is good but the Fold 7 series and possibly the Fold 8 will be just fine it's not such a horrible experience nobody is buying them anymore.

But the used Foldables I own have more then a good battery for the price I paid for them. And while Apple is not the only competitor to Samsung they are the top and most talked about competitor anyone next to them is quite below in terms of the top two US brands that typically get purchased.
