Somehow even Sharp can put larger 5100mah battery in their 6.5 inch while Samsung still struggled doing the same in their S26+/S26 Ultra and S26 FE (speculated) phones.
R11 The price has increased significantly compared to R10 last year, around 50,000 yen due to expensive storage and RAM. But in my country it will probably sell at the same price as in Japan with a bundle worth up to 50,000 yen. But still the price will be equivalent to Motorola Signature which has a better soc. Anyway, I am a Sharp (and Motorola) user, I like Clean UI and Pixel is not available in my country. The experience of using this sharp is almost close to pixel, minimal bloatware, rarely crashes, no ads and aftersales here is quite good (they will replace the unit or even buy back the unit for the price I bought).
Anonymous, 16 Jun 2026Anyone else never heard of this brand? CEOs of Chinese smartphone brands that you're familiar with were not even born yet when Sharp was already well established TV (and other electronics) manufacturer.
Too bad they don't sell outside Japan. Especially their Sense line. Ok, they sell that one in a few countries, but still not world wide enough.
This phone looks good
Its a great phone although I regretted the removal ot MicroSDXC card slot on the base Aquos R series
Wait...
Why should I buy this over Nothing Phone 3?
That is literally released in Japan too at about 120K yen, and offers similar specs with a, dare I say, less ugly design (what's for sure is that it's less generic)
Sure, a MicroSD card slot, headphone jack, USB 3.2 does it lack. But what you get in return is about 40K yen, 250US$ or 350S$ in savings.
if sony barely bothered then they'd be recycling the same old hardware, but instead they continuously are making new designs and cool things.
It seems biased to ignore that. This is Sharp's only new phone right now, by the way. They gave up on their Pro model and haven't made a new one since the R9 Pro.
Styling of a $150 phone.
1,000$ for a phone that has a high end specs with a flagship camera performance, son I'm crine I thought this phone could do anything better but why is it so expensive?
rizki1, 16 Jun 2026flagship price with mid-range specs..Totally agree with that, I don't get why people would defend this. Regardless of what country the brand came from, there's NO reason to have an overpriced device, just look at the CHINESE flagship phones, they are the true gold standard (price, performance, cameras, battery).
Why are they adding such weird things on their phone. What harm was there in a triple 50MP or 50+50+200 setup. The UW with a 10mm 1/1.12" with a in sensor crop of 24mm @ 1/1.2, a primary of 1/1.28" with 35mm, a telephoto with 1/1.56" and 85mm. A 5500mAh with 65W charging. Skip the led. Add a 3D FaceID setup instead. Launch it worldwide
rizki1, 16 Jun 2026flagship price with mid-range specs..What about the Xiaomi 17 clones? Did you say anything about them?
Anonymous, 16 Jun 2026Anyone else never heard of this brand? Only you😂 Sharp is a famous Japanese brand
Anyone else never heard of this brand?
rizki1, 16 Jun 2026flagship price with mid-range specs..gen 8 and 240 HZ is flagship level.
That's some seriously cool looking smartphone, and I like the light bar on the back, and the specs are nice. It's definitely very expensive tho, but that's to be expected from Sharp.
