Shamrock Sean, 03 Jun 2026All foldables have fragile inner screens Technically, what's fragile is the factory screen protector. The inner screen is the most protected in all foldable phones.
My Fold3 had terrible damage at the center of the screen (again screen protector not actual screen). You could technically replace the factory screen protector yourself, but instead I just bought the Fold7. About the fingernail dents you all are raving about. Yes, you can make a dent with a fingernail, but you need to apply pressure under a specific (unnatural) angle. I did it for science! :) Of course you can only see the dent when the screen is off, you never feel it. I have scratched my inner screen to clean debris with my fingernail multiple times per week for several years and never have I produced a dent on any of my folds that way.

Why is thr Purple image of the Z Fold 8 Uktra shown as NON-Wide screen format yet the proceedings 4 paragraphs specifically state Wide screen format?!?!
Then the following image, silver ghost grey, shown as "Z Fold 8" and is WIDE screen yet listed as NOT Ultra?!
After so many weeks of leaks youd figure ALL staff editors would NOT mix the two formats up and confuse your readers.

Despite Samsung will release bigger batteries in 2 foldables this year, apple is alleged to have a bigger battery in iphone fold. So, this is the first time samsung will have a small er battery than apple counterpart in history despite more demanding android compared to ios. Li-ion batteries have reached the physical limit. So, I believe the next galaxy ring and fold will announce SiC or solid state battery.

The Moto Razr is the battery king for now. Tom's Hardware rated them at 14hrs SOT. The Z7 was rated at 10:55 hrs, the Pixel at 12:16 hrs and the Open at 11:45 hrs. The Pixel and Open were foldables with good battery life so I can live with 12 hrs from the Z8.
Si/C or not, Samsung is doing something. There hasn't been a foldable this thin with a 5000mah graphite battery.

I did like Samsung before, but it is not making any effort like Honor, Vivo, Oppo, and Motorola, who has bigger batteries and faster chargers inside the box, and honestly, Samsung is too expensive. I prefer Chinese mobiles as they compete, and I think Samsung will get a battery of 6000 mah when the Z Fold 15 is released

Samsung is not trading-in their S25 Edge when ordering a S26 Ultra or Fold. Not a very trustfull company

No sane person would b... moreLiterally the most protected screen in the history of phones and slab fanny find a reason complain. Every inner screen of every foldable i ever owned are the ones to remain the most pristine out of every phone I owned in 20 years.
Like by far, it is not even a ` test, leaving your screen constantly exposed (like how all slab phones do) is a liability, who knew? And no amount of gorilla or other thick glass gonna save you from the fact that it is 24/7 exposed.
The vast, vast, vast majority of screen wear happens while the phone is not operated. And guess what mine is protected because it is an innie? Yours , mahne if your use one of those passport cases, but only old people do (ironically, they know best compared toe very one else who end up with screens full of microscstches).
The book/passport style of foldable is genius, the only one that makes sense, leaves the 2ndary screen exposed, and the important one tucked away. And yes I would trade a hard screen for a soft one any day of the week if it means that it remains hidden for all times that I do t use it. Accidents during use are super rare, accident while the phone is not used is an almost every day occurrence,e

Yes the inner screen is soft, you cant bend a hard glass, but this has pros and cons.
My current device is almost a year old vivo x fold 5 and yes if you try you cold scratch the inner screen with you nail, but the good part is due to the soft nature of the screens, micro scratches heal itself in a couple of days.
My one year fold (which i don't protect too much) has a perfect inner display, 0 visible scratches. Actually the outer screen is in much worse condition

Their fold line battery as big as their S series line?
This is good and bad in both ways. It's good that we have the same battery size as their ultra lineup, which shows the advancements. However, they just need to increase their S-series ultra battery capacity now. We've been stuck at the same capacity for 6 years, probably 7 years if the s27 ultra has 5,000 mAh too

When this is the primary upgrade over Z Fold7, maybe paying less for Z Fold7 (discounted when Fold 8 launches) makes sense.
