Popochip, 28 May 2026Mediatek😂for regular user, short term user maybe ok.for heavy user go for snapdragon👍Remember Mediatek decodes AV1 since 2019, when Qualcomm started in 2022 !
On most things Dimensity 9xxx is very close to 8 Elite...sometimes even a bit better (ray tracing for exemple).
And on one thing, Dimensity destroys Snapdragon : video codec ! Try to use Capcut and to encode a video, you're Snapdragon will be humiliated, Dimensity will finish the job when the Snap reach only 60%.
That's why lasts Galaxy Tab get Dimensity instead of of Snapdragon.
An AI LLM marketing again. Well, since it has an NPU inside, its technically to say in the slide.
You must mention about MFRC for games instead, as it relies on the NPU (but not all games have willing to support them, nor the device model if they have).
Anyway, D8550 isn't that a bad chip as a rebrand. We'll see the D8600 an upgrade (a bit)
The Dimensity chipsets are great. Just wish they upgrade the Helio chipsets using 4 old big cores 4xA76
Popochip, 28 May 2026Mediatek😂for regular user, short term user maybe ok.for heavy user go for snapdragon👍What does what you're saying have to do with the news? Is this the first time you've heard of MediaTek? Besides, Dimensity processors are quite suitable for mobile gaming. They're no longer just for casual users who only use their phones for short periods of time, as they used to be.

DarlingYext, 27 May 2026Another AI slop rebrand just to sell the same chipset for more money. At least they have a bit of decency by using LLM instead of AI.
Anonymous, 27 May 2026I'd rather get the 2400The Exynos 2400 is built on Samsung's 4nm LPP+ process, while the Dimensity 8550 utilizes a more advanced node, generally offering better power efficiency.
Key Differences
Architecture: Exynos 2400 uses ARM Cortex-X4, A720, and A520 cores. Dimensity 8550 uses a newer ARM architecture with higher clock speeds.
GPU: Exynos 2400 integrates the Xclipse 940 (AMD RDNA 3-based). Dimensity 8550 uses MediaTek's Mali GPU, which typically offers better driver support and gaming performance in current Android devices.
Verdict: The Dimensity 8550 is the superior chip for gaming and modern apps due to higher clock speeds and better efficiency, while the Exynos 2400 remains competitive in specific multi-core tasks but trails in single-core performance and GPU optimization.
Exynos 2400 it's draining battery faster
Anonymous, 27 May 2026Do you want Exynos 1680 or 2400 Crap?😂I'd rather get the 2400
anthonyp6690, 27 May 2026Yet another AI gimmickDo you want Exynos 1680 or 2400 Crap?😂
Necessary to make a octa A520.
To get rid of those D6xxx with A76 cores .
