Looking forward to see 2 Ultra-Big cores on their 2+3+3 config, in comparison with 2x Oryon L Cores of the 2+6 core SD 8E's Oryon cores. MediaTek seems to caught on the XRING O1 chip looks preety good design to include 2x X925 cores on its 10-core CPU.
The reason it was very interested was because, for specific AAA game titles relies on dual-heavy threaded processes like Zenless, Star Rail or Endfield might benefit better scheduling performance, leading in high efficiency.
Coincidently, Snapdragon 8E and Apple A series chips are the best example

They don't have the resources or R&D division to build custom cores. And even if they build custom cores, they might not be good enough (eg, Samsung Mongoose).
I hope they get big enough to build their own custom cores but right now only Qualcomm, Apple and Nvidia seems to have the resources for it and Nvidia seems to be going for arm PCs.
Rkm, 13 May 2026So, they are going for 2 x C2 ultras?
Interesting. Hope C2 ultras are efficient and cool enou... moreHere's my take here. As long as Mediatek cant make their own custom cores like Qualcomm and Apple does, they'll always just be the same with other chipmakers like Samsung, Google who uses stock ARM cores.
Custom cores is the way to go now. Look at the Geekbench 6 Single and Multicore scores of Snapdragon 8 Elite compares to Mediatek's new flagship DM9500, they're just almost the same considering 8Elite is from last year.
Mediatek, Google's Tensor, Samsung's Exynos all use the same ARM cores and only change the number of cores, cache, Mali GPU cores that causes changes in benchmark scores, nothing special.
Anonymous, 13 May 2026any news about dimensity 7500 & 6500 ?Dimensity 8600 is coming with 10000 batteries in Poco X9 Pro, which is based on 3nm on TSMC fabrication.

AntiPlannedObsolesce, 13 May 2026Show me a 5090 running on 5W and lessThe hell does that have to do with anything?
You've missed the point by a light year ffs.
Faviwalker12, 13 May 2026What ? They sustain performance longer than Snapdragon
And better due to their efficiency coreWhich is why I asked for 80% minimum.
Last year, both sides still drop to 60% in stability test.
And now that mediatek is using the new 2nm node for Dimensity 9600, I really hope they'd choose to follow Apple in the efficiency road instead of following qualcomm in blowing up benchmark records...
